Nilofer, Thank you for providing the specializations. I'm starting the program as well this coming Summer Session. I reached out to the Edgewood and for the non-Upgrad students the concentrations hasn't been approved yet.

Did they indicate what concentrations are available to select from? Would you happen to have a list?

Currently the Financial, Leadership, & General are the current concentrations available to US students. My advisor didnt put a date on the others ones current avaialble for upgrad students. My hope is when the time comes I can select the Cloud track to leverage my professional experience.

Hello everyone,
I have finally completed the first course at Edgewood and wanted to talk about the experience just like Lidel, to help future students.

The course itself is very interesting and engaging. I wasn't bored even for one minute, even the discussions and the Generative AI sandbox. I would suggest not to miss these two optional things and to read all the answers from other students. It helps a lot in learning.

The modules and lectures by Dr. Palmisano were good. She has a very good knack of explaining complicated things in simple terms, which I loved. Her voice is also very soothing.

The final assignment was difficult for me. Due to the one-week delay in gaining access to the course, I was on a time crunch. I uploaded my assignment about 30 minutes before closing time.

There is a SafeAssign program associated with the assignment that checks for plagiarism. I reached out to the professor to ask how this works and she had no clue. So here are the steps as I found it, open the SafeAssign link and checkmark the box there. Then you have to submit your paper before you get the report. The report was interesting, it told me I didn't have any plagiarism, but then again, I didn't add many quotes. It would be interesting to see how this works with quotes and paraphrasing.

The course is now closed for them to grade the papers. It will open after the grades are published. One thing I learned that surprised me was that before the final date of the assignment, you can keep sending in your draft papers to the professor for feedback. This wasn't something I was able to do during my MBA course, so I didn't know about it.

I found the professor responsive, but her advice wasn't that great to be honest. But I feel maybe because my company is a bit left field from the usual companies she is used to talk about and advising. I didn't get a chance to book the TA appointment, as every time I would try to schedule one, it was always fully booked. During a webinar, I did find the upGrad TA knowledgeable to be honest, but didn't get a chance to talk to her on the one-on-one call. The response they gave to the discussions and sandbox answers felt sometimes generic, and sometimes insightful. That is why reading all the students' answers is important along with the TA replies as it gives you further insights and helps with the thought process.

Due to shortage of time, I actually did all the discussions and sandbox in the last days before the assignment like 9-10th May. The TAs still responded, which I liked. It helped me build more confidence for my first paper at this college.

I don't know how I did on the actual paper, which is like 65% of my grade, but fingers crossed.

Oh, and I did find this odd, but there was this one student who completed the entire course by the 26th of April. Like 500+ pages of the book, the 18 or so modules, discussions and sandbox per modules, exams per modules and then the final 7-15pg assignment. During the webinar with the professors, all she wanted to know was when she can gain access to the second course, how will that be and all that. How she completed everything so fast is a mystery to me, but just a heads up that some students can be like her so don't be surprised.

I hope this helps everyone experience how DBA at Edgewood works.
Nilofer!

Good day, all.

I just got my grades in for my final course before the ADR section of the program. It was BUS 962 Managerial Economics. The course was fairly interesting, and the readings surprisingly easy. The course concluded with five quizzes and one video presentation that required us to perform some light analysis work. I did well and finished up with a decent GPA overall for the program. I'm now in the first course of the ADR, BUS 930. I'll be sure to give an update on how that turns out once it is complete. These last four courses are 8 weeks in duration, and I think they are simply a pass/fail evaluation to move on to the next stage, building to a dissertation defense.

See you folks sometime in July!

RE: Edgewood College/UpGrad DBA; potentially $11,250 - lidel - 07-05-2025

Hey everyone.

I have just finished the first ADR course. This part of the program is divided into four eight-week milestone courses, culminating in the defense of my dissertation in December. The first course focused on writing and getting the proposal approved. The next course is for obtaining approval for the literature review. The third course involves data gathering and analysis. The final course is for completing the writing of the dissertation and defending it.

I came into this course with a fully written proposal, which included my literature review. As of this morning, my IRB approval came through, and I'm free to begin my data collection and analysis, effectively leapfrogging the next course entirely.

I’m glad I started this phase with a fully written proposal. I think it would have been tight if I had to start writing the proposal from scratch in May. With a fully completed proposal, it has taken me eight solid weeks to get three committee members to read my work, provide me with suggested revisions, resubmit amended work, obtain their approvals, and secure IRB approval.

On my end, the time has consisted of short bursts of activity, with a furious week of writing here and there to complete revisions or submit IRB documents, interspersed with a lot of waiting for everyone to provide feedback. On top of this, there have been holidays, people away on vacation, and the usual delay factors when working with others.

Overall, it has gone smoothly, and I'm thrilled to be moving on to the next stage. I will share my survey link with the collaborating organizations after the July 4 long weekend and hope to start the data analysis by early September. I will likely do another update around the time of the defense.

See you all then.

Hey all,

Quick update. So, the proposal and IRB were approved, and I am slated to send out my survey tomorrow morning. I get an email from my advisor with another batch of revisions that will require a complete rework of my document, including foundational changes and likely an amendment to my IRB. These came from someone high up in the program who was not one of the official readers.

I'm honestly furious as I was told in no uncertain terms that I was free to proceed and the milestones were completed. I sent an email to that effect stating that I appreciate the input but not so much the timing and that I felt this was not respectful of my time as I would not have spent the last couple of weeks doing the IRB for a proposal they wanted more work on.

Anyhow, nothing to be done but roll up my sleeves and get to work. I'm sure it will all be fine once my anger subsides.

I'll keep on motoring and let you all know how it works out.

I see a lot of feedback here from the doctoral program.
Is anyone doing the master's program?
What is the workload? What are the assignments, and what do the exams look like? Are they proctored?

I did the MBA+DBA program. I finished the MBA portion of the program on July 3rd. I should have my MBA conferred in August (I was able to apply for graduation once I had completed 24 credits, and the graduation application was completed in May).

For the MBA program, you complete 15 credits of coursework that is part of the DBA and 15 credits that are part of the MBA. My MBA coursework was identical in format to the DBA work. Typically, a class consisted of a series of short quizzes and one or two projects. No weekly deadlines, need to have everything turned in before the end of the course—no proctored exams. The workload wasn't bad at all. I would typically draft the projects within the first week, and then work through the quizzes whenever I had free time after reading the lecture material. Then, the last week and a half, I would clean up my drafts based on what I had learned throughout the course. The only exception to this was the accounting and finance classes. I have a deep disdain for those topics. I completed everything for those classes in maybe a day or two and simply accepted my fate. Fortunately, that worked out for me.

I did two courses at a time, which allowed me to finish in about 10 months. I will maintain this pace formy next six courses of the DBA before having to work on my dissertation, which is four sessions long, one "course" per session. It sounds like from another post that there may be one proctored exam in the DBA program.

Hope this helps! I initially tried to do a session-by-session review on here of my experience, but these last two sessions took wayyyy too long to give me feedback on my courses. Overall, that has been the most stressful part. Getting halfway through my next set of courses and only just receiving grades for my prior set. It hasn't been an issue, but when you only spend the academic equivalent of a lunch break completing your Accounting for Managers course, and end up threading the needle on passing a little too tight... I think you see my point. I am not sure what they would do if you failed a prerequisite course and were already almost through with your next set of classes.
