Ain't over yet....had a good run the last coupla months without family crises cropping up. As long as everyone stays cool I'll be done real soon-like. That's why I plan well and execute super fast. You just never know what's going to happen. Last year the bachelor's was a photo finish with my dad's health decline. That last semester, some studying was on my phone in his hospital room. If everything didn't wrap up in early June when it did, I'd have had to put it on hold and would be just finishing with TESU now. Fingers crossed, everyone's gotta eat their veggies and get wrapped safely in bubble wrap for 2 more months. My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - passit1 - 04-29-2016 Signed up for the cohort part of the capstone which apparently comes with deadline prework not mentioned in the syllabus. Got that done on time and scheduled for a May 9 start (soonest they had). Just received another email with more instructions to read and watch videos to prepare for the capstone...what is the deal with this pre-work? AND there will be an email a week before the start date that introduces me to my cohort group. Good. But, get this, has MORE pre-work! Most of this pre-work is to prepare us for the capstone, it does not directly relate to the assignment. What's the deal? Did they have hordes of people finish all the classes just to drop out during the capstone? By the time we get done with all the "here it is, get ready" stuff, we could have been halfway through the thing! Clearly, there were no operations geeks on their team when designing this part of the program. Overprocessing is one of the 7 (or eight) forms of waste. My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - passit1 - 05-09-2016 Met with the other 3 members of my cohort team for the business simulation that's the first part of the capstone. I'm the only chick (what else is new) but we are all like minded in getting this done in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Our goal is to be done with the four practice rounds, eight sim rounds, powerpoint and business report in a month. We are all committed to marathon JoinMe sessions to work in Capsim to make it happen. My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - passit1 - 05-17-2016 Finished the simulation practice rounds - not a great ending score. But one of my teammates has a wife who did this a few years ago and she said her team had a lower score than we did. Then once her team had their debrief with the simulation company, they did really well in the actual simulation rounds. We're hoping for the same outcome. But we can't advance to the actual rounds until we get an appointment with the company for the debrief and so far they have not responded to our email request for an appointment. My team wants to have the debrief this week and start the actual rounds on Sunday. Guess we can only wait.... My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - jsd - 05-27-2016 Hrmmmm.... There's a "Dina" BSBA '15 graduate that TESU has been using in the past couple days on their scoial media channels... hrmmmmm.... There's a "Dina" BSBA '15 graduate that TESU has been using in the past couple days on their scoial media channels... hrmmmmm.... Ha - I just realized this yesterday when I was checking Facebook. Every coupla months, they roll out the promo stuff I was in right after graduation and I get all sheepish and proud at the same time. My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - passit1 - 05-27-2016 My team finished the simulation last night and we passed with plenty of room to spare. Now there's 3 assignments based on the sim to complete - 1 that's independent and two we are working on together. Once these team project is done, there is only one more project for the capstone and I'll be done with the MBA. Looking forward to getting my life back. Between Amazon and this capstone...they are all I really do right now. I promised my daughter I'd be done by her last day of school in June giving us a super fun summer from day 1. Gonna keep that promise. My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - Prloko - 05-27-2016 passit1 Wrote:Ha - I just realized this yesterday when I was checking Facebook. I just watched the video with the closed caption on. It does a terrible job translating. I couldn't help but giggle when it tried to dictate your name as "Dinosaur Nickel Chrome". The video I found online when I was looking into TESU, COSC, and Excelsior was on Youtube. This one probably is the one you're looking for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8x7ta7vfTeA I also viewed some of their reviews from grads: Thomas Edison State University: Videos of Thomas Edison State University alumni And I picked TESU over the other two... I liked the reviews from students/staff more. |
