The median income of a female Hispanic householder ($20,765) is only 46% of the incomes of single white male householders ($44,988). (Note: Income is more inclusive than earnings.)
Hispanic women with a high school diploma earn $22,469. That is 33% less than white men with the same level of education.
So that explains why some minorities are on welfare.

Just as an update: change.gov is no longer active. That was President Obama's transition team site.
Now President Obama's agenda and policy plans are on whitehouse.gov. If you are familiar with the Whitehouse site there have been quite a few changes since he took over -- all of them positive from what I see. Obama has created something new called The Office of the Public Liaison. There's definitely a new bend toward transparency. I think that's a step in the right direction. There is also a blog now on the whitehouse site. This is new as well.

Not exactly. Obama has never been truly transparent. He would never hint exactly to what extent he or his aids were involved the Blago scandal (at least some were). He was not transparent on the account of his treasury appointment...the appointment who had some tax evasion-type problems previously.
Obama has an image, not transparency.
