Pathfinder, for AST111 you would need to calculate various staff, but it is not bad at all. They give you all the formulas (like e=mc2, and you need to compute e for given m and c) and walk you though calculations in special math-only pre-quiz/pre-lab video.
It is not even a college algebra level, as long as you are capable of matching numbers with formulas, you are good.

It's pretty basic algebra but it's not super easy either; no calculus. Supposedly, the second week is the hardest. Every week, you need to do at least some math for the lab component. I think you can audit the course on edX to get an idea of how difficult it is.
I don't know if health & wellness will transfer to COSC but it does appear to be more difficult than I anticipated. There is a significant amount of stuff that you are supposed to read, but I don't think that there will be much in the way of math. You might find it easy, due to the lack of math.

I’m in Astronmy now with other family members. I’ve been able to help hubby refresh on the math rules - he hasn’t had math in 30 years. There’s so much online math help these days, a driven person could refresh as they go and complete what I’ve seen so far. I highly recommend looking at the Discussion forums for lab help. They’ve had explanations for the harder problems every week so far. Just gotta ask! The biggest thing is making sure everything is converted to the proper units (ie don’t multiply km and m together.) and getting used to less familiar units. Try to classify them in your mind as linear, weight, degrees, etc. and keep the units (km, m etc) with the numbers and cancel them out as you go. It’ll help you catch mismatched units.
There’s a closed book, proctored final at the end worth 25% of the grade. I’m told only a few lab style questions are on it. Most of the rest of the points are within your control. You get 3 tries on the homework and lab questions. Only 1 quiz is closed book. Other 2 quizzes are open book. A couple of small projects, follow the rubric. It’s possible to fail the final and still pass with a B if you do well on the rest.
A good math refresher might be Sophia’s foundations and/or intro to college algebra courses. There’s time to do them before August and it’s free.

Heads up: the precalculus self-paced version actually uses ALEKS. I don't know if the algebra class also uses ALEKS or not. The Calculus classes don't seem to use ALEKS; they actually have a textbook for you to download & read (the OpenStax book).

It does say they use ALEKS for the self-paced College Algebra course.

I signed up for the class and after three videos decided it was not for me
there are some really good videos on youtube
3Blue1Brown and PatrickJMT for example

Yikes. I haven't gotten that far; I'm still working on Precalc but signed up for Calc anyway because it was free to do so. If it's really that bad, I might just use SDC to learn while getting the credit from ASU.

I signed up for the Astronomy one, I was like this is not for me, but the History 102 is good, Hate the videos but so far I have 94% in the class. Taking College Algebra on 8/16 there as well.
