PSY 325X - Social Psychology (Upper Level) - UExcel and PSY 365X - Research Methods in Psychology - UExcel ...both of which have study guide's within Study.com - which are essentially SDC's version of those classes. Since I love SDC's format so much from a learning perspective, that should help a bunch. RE: No degree to MBA-HR in 20 months - Nodaclu's Progress Thread - Nodaclu - 08-12-2018 Psych 312 through Study.com is done. That should be the last of the SDC coursework. I started the TESU Capstone last week. Scheduled to finish on 10/24/18. The only way I'll graduate in December is to also finish my two remaining UExcel classes by the time I finish my Capstone. With a new full time job, that might be a bit too much to ask, but I'm going to give it a shot. If not, I can live with waiting until May. After all, I've waited 30 years already, what's another 5 months? You apply for graduation by 10/1, the Capstone is done 10/24, and you still have until Nov 15-ish to finish sending your transcripts in. I turned in my last course May 24th for June graduation. They did the first audit in late April, I had one last class to finish (the dreaded statistics). They did another audit 5/16, I replied that I had already requested my transcript be sent and it was in transit; they gave me until 5/25 for them to receive it, and they sent me the email on 5/25 saying that I had gotten certified for my degree. So, don't panic, and keep going with your capstone - that is your priority at this point. Study the UExcel as you go, and then take them as soon as possible after you turn in your capstone. The only think I don't know is what the timeline is for taking the UExcel exams and then getting the grades, and getting the transcript sent to TESU. I'm hoping that is a quick and painless process. Good luck! Thank you so much! I was under the impression that everything had to be in by October 31st. It sounds like I might have 2-3 additional weeks to finish the UExcel classes. The Social Psychology class should be quick - I just passed the lower division version, and the UExcel version doesn't look dramatically different. That's a good thing, because the Research Psychology class is going to be tough. I've settled on my Capstone question, and I feel pretty good about being able to put the paper together without a tremendous amount of struggle. That should give me enough bandwidth to get everything done in time - especially thanks to you helping me realize that I have a bit more breathing room than I thought. Thanks again! RE: No degree to MBA-HR in 20 months - Nodaclu's Progress Thread - Nodaclu - 09-12-2018 Just about halfway through the Capstone, and to be honest, I'm NOT enjoying it at all. After a couple of years of "work at my own pace" via Study.com, I'm finding the return to a traditional class format very stifling! I requested my transcripts from Study.com almost 3 weeks ago, but they never confirmed that they sent them. TESU confirmed receipt of my latest ACE transcript, but not the Study.com one. It's also been 2 weeks since TESU received my ACE transcript, but they still haven't reviewed it. I'm starting to get a tiny bit nervous about timelines and getting everything done by December, but there's still some wiggle room, and to be honest, if I have to push out to May, it isn't the end of the world. I've committed to earning my PHR as soon as I can free up a block up time, so either way, I'm probably going to spend Nov/Dec studying to take the exam in January. My goal is for my next post in this thread to be my "I'm done!" post - even if I miss the December graduation deadline. RE: No degree to MBA-HR in 20 months - Nodaclu's Progress Thread - Nodaclu - 09-13-2018 Deleted. False alarm. After a couple of years of "work at my own pace" via Study.com, I'm finding the return to a traditional class format very stifling! I found the exact opposite to be true for me - the structure of the course was actually kind of freeing for me. I set out a calendar of when each item was due, planned it all out, and made sure that I did what I needed to do well in advance each week (usually Mondays was my big day). Having a deadline and some timelines in there made me go through it at exactly the right pace. My only issue was completing the final paper, and my advice there is just choose one of the 3 topics and get moving on it. If I would have done that, instead of agonizing between the 3, I would have been MUCH better off. Seriously, who cares, just pick one. I'd smack myself upside the head if I thought it would work. RE: No degree to MBA-HR in 20 months - Nodaclu's Progress Thread - Nodaclu - 10-17-2018 10 days to go in my Capstone... It's been a struggle, but I'm going to pass, and with a higher overall grade than I thought I would at the beginning of the semester. I did ultimately make the decision to push my official graduation date out to the next available one (is that March)? Trying to finishing everything in the current time frame along with it being Q4 in the Benefits world (open enrollment anyone?) meant that it was just going to be too much to try and finishing everything by 11/15. But what matters is...I'm going to graduate. I can safely say it now, and I can't freaking believe it!! I'm even giving a serious look to a couple of grad programs as well. I think I've narrowed it down to either Fort Hays State University, or CSU-Global. I think I'll start a separate thread for that one. As soon as I finish putting the Capstone together (probably next week), I'll immediately jump into finishing the last two UExcel classes. From there, it will depend on which school I choose. If it's Fort Hays State, I'll have a several month wait before I can start, so I'll likely utilize that time to earn my PHR. Still more to come! |
