Transferred it. Glad not to have taken it, people regularly complain about how bad the class is on Reddit, but I'm sorry I can't offer help.

Passed C179 today. Like you said, Thorne, lots of complaints about this course, but I'm not sure why. The class was boring and the material was a little broad, but it wasn't difficult.

I read one of the two texts they use in the course, plus a 40 page study guide prepared by the mentors, and passed in a week.

101 CUs down, 22 to go (spread over 5 courses). I'm getting excited about completing this!

Some people want every class to take a week with no effort. That's my opinion on it.

I asked the mentors, they didn't want to give me a study guide. Didn't hurt me in the long run, but it would have helped a bunch.

Congrats on the pass! What are your last five?

Tech Comm (which I'm currently procrastinating on and have done basically none), Capstone, Spreadsheets (lol), ICND2, CCNA Sec

Congrats on your proposal being accepted!!

I really need to look at what i need to do for Tech Comm.

RE: New Goal: BS IT-Security at WGU. - Thorne - 11-07-2017

I'm honestly surprised they didn't transfer Tech Comm with your BA. The consensus on both Reddit and Slack seems to suggest asking them for templates and examples.

You haven't done Spreadsheets? Slacker. Wink

RE: New Goal: BS IT-Security at WGU. - jsd - 11-07-2017

Tech Comm was Tech Writing when i started, and it was a non-transferrable course. it has since changed to Tech Comm and is now transferable, but since it happened after I enrolled, I'm out of luck.

Since spreadsheets is one of those finish-in-a-day courses, I haven't worried about it. I'll keep it for when i need an easy win.

(like when i fail CCNA and am feeling sad Tongue )

That explains it. Hopefully it won't be too rough; a lot of folks say it took 1-2 weeks for Tech Comm.

Technical Communications is all done. Took me about a week, but waiting for evaluations to come back added a few extra days.

4 more to go. Probably get started on the Capstone now.

Congrats on the pass and good luck on the Capstone!

I haven't been posting on the forum lately, but now is as good as time as any to get back to it.

The third and final task of my capstone came back today, and I've passed the course!

I did not save my Capstone for last though, so I still have three more courses to go. Two of them are going to be very difficult for me, so I'll be saving those until my next term starts in February, and using the time until then to knock out the insanely easy course that should only take me a few days, and then I'll spend the remaining month+ studying for the two hard courses starting in Feb. I'll have quite the head start so hopefully that will ease my pain a bit.

I'm almost there!!
