Tomorrow, I'll take Computer Architecture's exam so I know how many points I need for the assignment I've got half-done right now. Finishing both of these classes in a week is ridiculously stressful. Especially with the holidays coming up.

Congrats on finishing Discrete Math!

For the Computer Architecture exam, a 70% to 80% would be a lot less stress on having to do well on the assignment.  Do plenty of practice exams.

The logic gates from discrete math are in Computer Arch.  That Data Structures which algorithm is the fastest is in it too.  Some stuff was easy.  Some things like adding Binary were tough.

You are better off doing the Study.com courses now than trying to do it in a TESU term while doing the Capstone.

That's what I keep telling myself while I struggle to deal with all this. I'm hoping to be able to submit the assignment by Monday so that I can have everything sent to TESU by Christmas.

I started Computer Architecture in March, gave up and dropped it. I was going to keep this course as a backup if I failed one of my UL on my todo list but considering the upcoming deadline, I figured I might as well at least give it a shot since I spent the time to watch all the videos and do the quizzes.

I spent this week on the assignment, got the 1-bit ALU working with a good chunk of the operations from phase one of the assignment, spent at least a day getting the 8-bit ALU wired up (someone posted a video showing how to make a 4-bit ALU based off the 1-bit ALU) which once I knew that I could do a working 1-bit ALU, that made the 8-bit ALU so much easier. The pain point was accidentally getting wires connected with other wires due to making corners when when I started wiring things up. I got 4 points docked from Build the 9 original instructions in Logisim because I misread the instructions and thought I only had to build 9 instructions from the total 14 list from Phase 1, not the 9 instructions that they provided.

Spent another day trying to write assembly based off a tutorial on assembly (and the fact that I saw on one of the youtube videos posted on assembly for that course referenced that you could refer to lines you've written in your program) and pretty much used that knowledge to do some GOTO statements as part of the loop. I labelled almost every gate in my logisim circuit and I guess my circuit was detailed enough because the grader gave me 100. Took the practice final a few times yesterday and today and scored in the 60s each time.

Just finished taking the final exam today and I scored a 66 out of 100 based off what I could remember from March, so I felt that the practice final is a good indication on how you might do on the final exam.

I don't think the courses have to be in to TESU by 12/31, instead the course has to be completed by then - you can send to TESU later. That's generally how they work.

Fingers crossed that's how it works this time. But, honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the deadline to send the courses to TESU was actually December 31st. I'd prefer to err on the side of caution, especially with these classes.

How many question did you get in the computer architecture exam? it is 50 or 100 question?
Another thing how many questions are in the Discrete math exam are they the same exact question that are in the quizzes.
Im doing both courses at the same time but I need to push fast this so I have an Idea if reading only the quizzes I can still pass the Discrete math course.

Is not true my Adviser sended me an email saying that the transcript need to send no later than December 31 2021

Discrete Math is 100 questions. A lot of them didn't seem very familiar. But I still managed to get most of them right. If you can get 65-70% (or more) on the practice exam, you should be good for the final.

And advisors have been wrong before. So, it is possible that the "send it by the 31st" is wrong. But I wouldn't count on it being incorrect!

Rachel which formulas did you have to remember good for this Discrete exam please post an Idea what are the most the exam has been focused so I we can concentrate more in this particular subject to score at least 65% to pass

There were several questions about permutations & combinations, so make sure you know those formulas. A couple of questions were just asking what those formulas actually WERE. Binomial probability formula: important. Standard deviation was mentioned once or twice. Try to remember the binomial standard deviation formula, but I'm not sure it actually came up. Know the difference between geometric and arithmetic series and sequences. There were a couple of questions about matrixes, including how to rotate or transform (you'll understand when you get to that unit) and which matrix to use or what type of transformation multiplying by a certain matrix would cause.

But my exam felt like it disproportionately emphasized logic and computer architecture. Like maybe 25% of the course covered pure logic, but around half the exam was about logical statements and picking out which logic gate meant what. I kind of felt like I was taking an exam for Computer Architecture.

Remember you only need 55% or 56% to pass the exam if you can get 100% on your quizzes!
