Fall 1 2023 Thread - virino - 08-28-2023 Hey peeps! I just got into Brightspace and so far... I'm not really loving it. It's hard to navigate and the quizzes are *completely* different compared to what they had before. In one of my classes, I can't tell whether I passed or failed a one question "matching" quiz, and I can't see where to retake it? So far, not a fan, but this is the new normal so we'll make the best of it! My classes this term so far:
RE: Fall 1 2023 Thread - rachel83az - 08-28-2023 If you can't see it, I would assume that you've passed it? At least, I hope so? RE: Fall 1 2023 Thread - tsgreer - 08-28-2023 Yep, I am having same experience. And it seems it's going to take a little longer to get through the classes now; they may be harder to blast thru really quickly, unlike the last platform. BUS 240 was not bad at all, so hopefully it's still ok. In any case, best of luck on blazing new trails in Brightspace! RE: Fall 1 2023 Thread - bjcheung77 - 08-28-2023 Don't know how the change in Strut to the new BrightSpace learning system would limit your 'speed' to finish the courses... If I had to hazard a guess, wouldn't it be like using Coursera and then shifting to edx? When I compared Coursera/edx, courses are very similar in nature, discussions, quizzes, assignments, readings, videos, etc... Question: Does the BrightSpace system allow you to use a second monitor to review your course content, pdfs, links, everything, while you progress through the course? I like reading on both screens, so for example, if it has a video, I move that to my second monitor and while I'm actively listening, I'm also skimming through other content on the laptop... RE: Fall 1 2023 Thread - skulkbeets - 08-28-2023 Well for one, it can be more difficult to judge how long a class is. Class contents seem to be hidden until you finish a milestone. The other was more straightforward. RE: Fall 1 2023 Thread - post*it*notes - 08-28-2023 I don't post here much, but I came to complain. HAHA! I'm hoping to be able to get through my last 4 classes this session, so I really hope this new platform doesn't slow me down more than a day or two getting used to it. It's a lot more difficult to see progression or make sure I didn't miss something. I have to click a title, and then a sub-title to see if there's a dot (not completed) or checkmark (completed) within each learning activity. It does allow additional windows and dual monitors. If anyone can find a way to lock the table of contents "side panel" open all the time, I'd love to know how! (I'm old, I don't like clicking stuff open and closed all the time) RE: Fall 1 2023 Thread - Duneranger - 08-28-2023 (08-28-2023, 07:52 AM)virino Wrote: Hey peeps! I see History in progress in your sig RE: Fall 1 2023 Thread - Luiscastaneda25 - 08-28-2023 The new interface is horrible. How do you submit a draft for feedback? You have to click the milestone assignment to open it up fully (with submit box), then scroll down and you either comment or upload something depending on what your instructor wants. |
