Ridiculously Easy Associates Degree - Purdue University Global - xicovu - 08-31-2021 I really think Purdue University Global needs to get some more attention. Minus the 30 credits you have to do for the generals, and a flat rate of $200 a month, you can get all of your Associates' level courses from W3 School's PHP certificate (the answers are published in study guides) and the TEEX cyber security credit. For Bachelors, the AWS Solutions Architect Associate exam counts for 30 credits on its own. That leaves with 30 credits from any source, anywhere. They will take literally anything, including substantial PLA's that they are almost willing to hand out for nothing. A letter from your boss plus a couple of pages can count for substantial credit. AWS + CySA + W3 PHP + Google IT Support and you have yourself a degree. AWS Fundamentals is super easy, even if it is worth less credit it is a better option. WGU certs are 1 to 1 for credit AWS is 1 to 11 for credit. Literally in a weekend you can get all of the elective/major requirements done. Once you do their 30 required credits via there $200 a month subscription, you've got an associates. ANYONE can pass the W3 PHP certificate once you look at the study guide, because the test is open book. You don't have a proctor, you just need someone who isn't you and doesn't have your last name to sign that you passed it. I'm going to use PLA's to get the other 60 credits most likely, unless they count Graduate certificates for Undergrad credit. Seriously...Purdue University global can't be beat IMHO for cost or speed, and they take credits from everywhere. They'll just try to upsell you on a Masters Degree. They are easy courses to take, and then you have a Bachelor's of Professional Studies. I'm going to use my BPS as a means to get an MS of Electrical Engineering from U of Colorado Boulder, assuming I can get the math learnt. For less than $30k I may just end up with a Master's in Electrical Engineering. RE: Ridiculously Easy Associates Degree - Purdue University Global - ReyMysterioso - 09-01-2021 So I'm in a different boat here ...I have a crapton of ACE credits.. Sophia, Straightline, Teex, even Shmoop, etc etc. Over 100. I have 37 RA credits that cover gen eds plus a couple electives. I have a BSBA already. Supposing I wanted a second bachelor's, with this open program I probably need only the residency requirements and capstone? How many residency credits do they require? And this is the most important question... could I just cherry pick easy fluff classes to fill up the residency requirements? RE: Ridiculously Easy Associates Degree - Purdue University Global - xicovu - 09-01-2021 Yes, you could cherry pick here is a list that must comprise 25% of your degree: Test Code Description / Course Name Credits CJO307PX Crisis Management in Terrorist Attacks and Disasters 6 CMO107PX College Composition I 5 CMO115PX Communication Concepts and Skills 5 CMO206PX Interpersonal Communications 5 CMO214PX Public Speaking for the Professional 5 CMO220PX College Composition II 5 CMO305PX Communicating in a Diverse Society 6 CMO310PX Communication and Conflict 6 CMO313PX Tools for the Digital Age 6 CMO315PX Group Dynamics and Teambuilding 6 CMO405PX Communicating Persuasively 6 CMO410PX Organization Communication 6 HNO330PX Case Management in Human Resources 6 HNO370PX Child Welfare and Family 6 HNO430PX Advocacy for Families and Youth 6 HRO400PX Employment and Staffing 6 HRO410PX Employee Training and Development 6 HRO485PX Strategic Human Resources Management 6 HSO311PX Epidemiology and Biostatistics I 6 HSO315PX Practices in Public Health 6 HSO320PX Microbiology 6 HSO415PX Environmental Health 6 HUO200PX Critical Evaluation in the Humanities 5 HUO245PX Ethics 5 HUO320PX Culture -- Religion and Identity 6 ITO301PX Project Management I 6 I TO303PX Application Development, Virtualization and the Cloud 6 ITO391PX Advanced Software Development Including Web and Mobility 6 ITO412PX Information Systems Security 6 ITO460PX Systems Analysis and Design 6 ITO484PX Cybersecurity Policies 6 LSO305PX Constitutional Law 6 MMO150PX Survey of Mathematics 5 MMO212PX College Algebra 5 MMO305PX Business Statistics and Quantitative Analysis 6 MTO140PX Introduction to Management 5 MTO300PX Management of Information Systems 6 MTO302PX Organizational Behavior 6 MTO340PX Conflict Management and Team Dynamics 6 MTO357PX E-Marketing 6 MTO358PX Social Media Marketing 6 MTO361PX Foundations of Real Estate Practice 6 MTO400PX Business Process Management 6 MTO431PX Real Estate Finance and Ethics 6 MTO432PX Real Estate Law 6 MTO435PX Operations Management 6 MTO450PX Marketing Management 6 MTO455PX Salesforce Management 6 SCO225PX Environmental Science-Ecosystems, Resources, and Carbon Footprints 5 SCO235PX General Biology I - Human Perspectives 5 SCO246PX Fundamentals of Microbiology 5 SCO250PX Fundamentals of Science 5 SCO330PX Immunology 6 SSO260PX Gender and Society 5 SSO270PX Social Problems 5 SSO360PX American Women 6 I will say, if you already have a degree I don't know why you would want this one unless you want "Purdue University Global" on your resume. AWS CCP: IT222: Introduction to Cloud Computing IT227: Cloud Infrastructure Administration IT234: Database Concepts IT303: Virtualization and Cloud Security IT306: Cloud Services Management IT413: Migrating Data and Applications in the Cloud IT515: AWS Academy Cloud Foundations Azure Fundamentals: IT222: Introduction to Cloud Computing IT227: Cloud Infrastructure Administration IT303: Virtualization and Cloud Security IT306: Cloud Services Management I was able to pass both of those after some relatively short cramming(already had cloud fundamental knowledge). As long as you are technical, there really isn't anything that beats Purdue University Global. One weekend - in a weekend, I've got all the electives for an Associates degree. I could get a Bachelor's worth of elective/major credit in a month or two if my boss(es) sign off on it. Any technical folks on this forum - it's a gold mine. Finish it and start your Master's. It's cheaper than WGU for a year of tuition. Of course, Pierpont is even lower cost. ![]() |
