TESU Graduation Email - Peter123456789 - 08-19-2016 I need help interpreting this email. The matter in question is highlighted in red. Does this mean that if I do not have all my credits transferred to TESU by September 1st then my TECEPs will not count? We are currently waiting for any outstanding transcripts necessary to complete your degree requirements and your August TECEP Exam grades for PSY-350. Your file will be reviewed again on September 2, 2016. If your outstanding transcripts and final grades have been posted to the University and your degree requirements have been met, we will certify your file for September 2016 graduation. If your final transcripts and final grades are not received and posted by September 2nd or you have not met the requirements for your degree we will notify you that you are not being certified for September graduation and your file will be reviewed again for December 2016 graduation. You currently need 10.66 semester hours; 3 sh in Diversity, 6 sh in the Area of Study at the 300/400 level with a grade of C or better, and 1.66 sh in Free Electives to fulfill your degree requirements. Your enrollment program requires that you take a certain number of Thomas Edison State University courses before you can graduate and you have 4 credits left to be completed, to fulfill that requirement. Please Note: Upon successful completion of your current in progress TESU course, the residency requirement will be fulfilled for September 2016 graduation only. If you do not meet the requirements for September 2016 graduation, you will be responsible for completing the 16 semster hour residency requirement. If you do not intend to meet the academic residency requirement of the University, you must pay a residency waiver fee of $2,000. Please contact the Office of the Bursar at (609) 984-4099, to submit this payment. If the residency waiver is paid by September 9, 2016 you will still be considered for September 2016 graduation. It sounds to me like they're giving you extra time to get everything in bit that your enrollment will lapse after that. You should write them back to confirm, though. TESU Graduation Email - Lindagerr - 08-19-2016 Have you taken the remaining credits already and if so where? Have those transcripts been sent to TESU already? From how I am reading if you have not met all of the requirements by Sept 1st your credits will still count but they will not meet the next years residency requirement so you will have to restart that. I would definitely call them ASAP to clarify and if you are not going to make the deadline ask if you could just pay a smaller fee to extend your enrollment 3 months and not have to pay residency fee. Good luck and if you have finished the required courses somewhere else sit on them to get transcripts to TESU even if you have to pay overnight to have them at TESU in time. If the courses were completed at TESU then I would tell them to make sure they are not holding things up between departments. TESU Graduation Email - davewill - 08-19-2016 That's what it sounds like to me. Supposedly people had only through the May term to get their residency in using TECEPs. If they're allowing an August test, maybe they're treating it as a one-time exception? I agree with the others. Contact the registrar's office and clarify. If there's any chance you will not get everything in by the deadline, request some sort of extension. TESU Graduation Email - Peter123456789 - 08-19-2016 The thing is, my TECEP residency will be fulfilled before September 1st, but I may be a few credits short for graduation at that time. I failed the corporate communications Saylor test by 1 question and the next time I can attempt it is the afternoon of September 1st. I will call TESU ASAP and ask for a small extension. Thanks for advice everyone. I will let you know what happens. TESU Graduation Email - Toastmaster - 08-19-2016 davewill Wrote:That's what it sounds like to me. Wait, so if we enroll in TESU during August, we can still qualify with TECEPS? My apologies if I'm reapeting exactly what you just said, but I am stunned and happy if that is the case, LOL! Please OP, get back to with what they said. This may, or may not benefit me. (I am getting an Associates from Excelsior, and would love to "lock in" TECEP residency with TESU, if I can, if at all possible, by "enrolling") TESU Graduation Email - Peter123456789 - 08-19-2016 Toastmaster Wrote:Wait, so if we enroll in TESU during August, we can still qualify with TECEPS? You had to have been enrolled in those TECEPs in the May Term. What I would do is e-mail contact@saylor.org--let them know of your graduation deadline and ask if they can allow your re-attempt before September 1st. Their handbook says that they do allow re-attempts before 2 weeks in certain circumstances. I've emailed Saylor and in the case they allow me to retake sooner, I will notify TESU once I pass the test and show them proof of the ACE Transcript being sent over. That's a good idea, for proof I think you could send TESU a link to the verifiable certificate Saylor auto-generates and sends with the "Proctor Verified" seal once you pass a test (might not work, but worth a try). Good luck! |
