Took Saylor's BUS203 (NCCRS) : Principles of Marketing Today - Saharapost - 04-18-2014

I took Saylor's Principle of Marketing today and scored 78% on the final, proctored exam. In all, I paid $25 to ProctorU and an additional $8.50 for Premium service. The only resource I used for this exam was Education Portal marketing video lectures- nothing more. I watched every video lecture except the last 3 to 4?? which I skipped because they were boring.Smile

Before taking the Saylor finals, I took the individual unit tests. The non NCCRS (non credit) unit tests were 5 while the NCCRS unit tests were 7. I took them all and then went straight to the Proctored Final. Together with the practice quizzes from Education Portal videos, their (EP) final exams, and the quizzes from Saylor, I was able to prepare for the final.

Thanks to Zenurez who introduced me to the "Zen Method" of "Sayling" through Saylor's Marketing exam. I would have spent hours, days, weeks, reading the bulky study e-book provided by Saylor. With the interesting videos, I was able to hit the pass mark. For someone who wants to hit the 70 pass mark or cross over to 80, I think the Education Portal video on Marketing is great.

My headache now would be how to request a transcript to TESC considering the fact that I am not a US resident. To request a transcript, I understand that I am to send a stamped addressed envelope to Saylor. Does anyone have an idea about how someone from outside the US can pay to Saylor for stamp and envelope without having to worry about getting a stamp from far away US...?

Sahara, Did you get this sorted out? If not I could help you out. I can buy the postage and the envelope and if you need to provide application documentation you can either fax it or scan it and I'll print it off

Thanks a lot, EI2HCB. Yes, I got it sorted out. Zenurez, a DF member helped me with the stamps and postage. Before then, I had written to Saylor, explaining to them my situation and requesting if I could pay to them via paypal or credit card so they could send the transcript on my behalf. Lo and behold, they responded and offered to handle everything for free. They've sent the transcript and Zen's request would have been received by now. Wondering whether they'll send two transcripts to TESC. By next week or so, I should get a confirmation from TESC that they got my Saylor transcript. Smile Everyone on this forum has been very helpful one way or the other.

Update:

Seems my Saylor transcript has been received at TESC. I haven't received any notification from TESC yet, but when I logged in to my OSS and hit the TRANSCRIPT RECEIVED button, I noticed the following information has been added to my lists of institutional transfer:

My Institution Transfers
0004855 TESC-Assessment Credit 04/25/14

Waiting for official confirmation about this from TESC. Smile

Thank you for posting that specific information. I too have one of those and I couldn't figure if that was from Saylor or just from applying. However, they didn't add it to my initial credit evaluation even though they had it on record.

I was wondering why TESC wouldn't update one's transcript immediately after receiving it, then, I stumbled upon this document (in the second paragraph marked item 1) http://www.tesc.edu/documents/Request_for_Graduation_Form.pdf where they state that:
Quote:...Please note that the update of additional credits takes four to six weeks and you will be ineligible for graduation until all credits have been completed...

So, I'll guess it takes about 4 to 6 weeks upon receipt of transcript before they'll update our records. I wonder whether this holds true for TECEPS too.

How long did it take your transcript to get to TESC from Saylor?

Just a couple of day- 3, maybe 4. Even though I saw it on my OSS page that a transcript had been received, TESC did not write to notify me until about after a week or two. It then took TESC about 20 business days to update my evaluation.

That makes me a little worried. I sent the paid envelope to Saylor about two weeks ago. I also requested an ACE transcript last week and it is showing but nothing for the Saylor. Hopefully its just Saylor being slow.
