| Advice on associates |

Hi everyone,
I apologize in advance if some of this is basic. I am not from the US, so some of the terminology and rules are still confusing to me.
I am looking for the fastest and cheapest way to complete an Associate’s degree with a math, statistics, or quantitative focus. This is intentionally an Associate’s, not a Bachelor’s, due to time constraints.
I have tried reading older threads, but I am still confused about some things like residency requirements and how they apply when using a lot of transfer or alternative credit.
I have seen TESU ASNSM, Board of Governors AAS (which I understand may no longer be available), and UMPI, but I am not sure which of these still work, how they differ, or which make sense for someone outside the US.
I already know about Study.com, StraighterLine, Sophia, ALEKS, CLEP, etc., but I am struggling to connect those to an actual degree path.
If possible, I would really appreciate:
Plain-language explanations
Which of these options still exist and work
An approximate total cost in USD
Sorry again for the basic questions, and thanks in advance for any help.

The 2025-2026 UMPI Catalog Spring Versionhas just been released with several interesting additions in the YourPace CBE modality.
New programs: A 15-credit undergraduate Graphic Design Certificate. An AA in Human Services.
There’s a new list of official UMPI minors fully available on YourPace, which includes these new or relatively newly members: Community Health, Healthcare Administration (the two are separate minors), Early Childhood Education, Humanities, Pre-Law Studies, and Sociology (a separate minor from Social Studies, which is also available on YourPace).
New or relatively new YourPace undergraduate courses include several courses in Art in and beyond that Graphic Design Certificate. These include Drawing I, Photography I, and Introduction to Film.
There are now eleven MAT courses on YourPace, including College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, II, and II, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics I and II, and Discrete Mathematics. In the fall catalog there were only three MATs. All MATs are 100- or 200-level.
There are also two 4-credit courses new to YourPace either of which are likely to fulfill both the physical science (3D) and science lab (3E) general education requirements: GIS 308 Fundamentals of GIS or GEY 112 Fundamentals of Geology. (GIS 308 looks like the same as or close to ENV 308 Fundamentals of GIS, which is listed as covering those GECs.) Now the notorious BIO 105 Biology for Everyday Life is no longer the only YourPace course that will fulfill 3E! (BS in Healthcare Administration majors will still need BIO 105.)

(Help) TEEX credits & Credly – international student question (UMPI) |

Hi everyone,
I’m an international student applying to UMPI YourPace (undergrad).
I’m looking at the TEEX cybersecurity courses (Cyber 101/201/301, etc.) that are ACE-recommended and issued via Credly (up to 25 credits). I found this information in degree fourm in this link https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UM...egree_Plan
which are these credits
These courses are completely free and work similar to Sophia courses. Credit issued via Credly. Cybersecurity for Everyone (Cyber 101) (5cr), Cybersecurity for IT Professionals (Cyber 201) (4cr), Cybersecurity for Business Professionals (Cyber 301) (4cr), Information Risk Management (1cr), Disaster Recovery/Info Systems (1cr), Cyber Incident Analysis/Response (1cr), Secure Software (1cr), Information Security Basics (1cr), Digital Forensics Basics (2cr), Network Assurance (2cr), Cyber Ethics (1cr), Cyber Law/White-Collar Crime (2cr), all came in as COS-2XX and should work for technical requirements.
My main question:
If I mark “NOT a U.S. citizen” during TEEX registration, will TEEX still issue the ACE credits to Credly?
Has any international student successfully received TEEX credits in Credly and transferred them to UMPI recently?
Did UMPI accept them as COS-2XX electives, and was there any cap?
I want to be sure citizenship doesn’t block credit issuance before I start.
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I am new to the Sophia and study.com course format. I’m interested in getting 90+ credits done from Sophia/ study and transfer to TESU. But my ultimate goal is a in person neuroscience master either stateside or on Europe. (Eu citizen). But I’m worried that the transfer credits won’t be enough or too weak to open the door into any serious neuro program. Would love experience / insight. Thank you

| Low GPA when applying for CBE undergrad program |

Hopefully this is a good location for the question, but please let me know if I should move it elsewhere.
I’m looking to finish my degree, which has been on hold for 30 years. I stopped in the middle of my second semester, which resulted in some incomplete classes dragging my already weak GPA down further.
I’m trying to understand how that’ll impact enrolling in a CBE undergrad program at places like ETAMU, UMPI, WGU, and the like.
How strict are inbound GPA requirements, and are some programs more flexible than others for someone looking to restart their education journey?
Do these programs look at the previous GPA overall or just the GPA of classes accepted to be transferred in?
Is there a way to have courses from Sophia, Study.com, Coursera and the like be included in the GPA when applying?
Thanks!

Your Location: Toronto, Canada
Your Age: 25
What kind of degree do you want?: Master of Public Admin, Master of Public Service or Master of Labor Studies/Relations

Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: 74 Sophia
Any certifications or military experience?:
Budget: 10k-13k US, obviously lower if I can transfer some graduate credits in.
Commitments: Full time job but can handle online work like UMPI, weekly school etc.
Dedicated time to study: About 2 courses per semester.
Timeline: ASAP but to graduate in 2 years depending on course, transfer etc.
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: I have money saved away.
If anyone can help me find a school - online that I can attend (doesn't have to be CBE) I'd appreciate it.

| Expectation vs. Reality for Political Science Master's |

It's definitely a "me" thing, but I think I faced some issues after starting, then deferring, a program.
- One, I mixed up being "into" politics and wanting to study actual political science.
- Two, I didn't give myself sufficient time to rest between ending my last program and beginning a new one.
- Three, I don't feel like I was a good culture fit at all for the program. I've taken other online programs before, but I just didn't mesh with the cohort.
- Four, why did I think that spending $26k would be a good idea? I withdrew just before the deadline.
I just finished my Master's in Data Science (Boston University) and hyped up political science so much that I crashed (and burned) in the first week of my new program (Tier 2). I developed a stiff neck and a major headache last weekend and just knew that the stress wasn't for me. With things being what they are in the U.S., I'm also not sure that the program I entered would continue to be supported by financial aid, which would be a problem.
I also realized that, with the level of debt that I have now, even though I want to continue school, adding a $26k load (which I know isn't exactly the worst) would be unrealistic, even if the total debt would still be lower than my expected starting salary.
Currently, I've withdrawn from the current semester, but depending on circumstances, I could either join a different program (for $10k) in AI (which I just realized was something I'm interested in learning more about) or just rely on Coursera courses for now.
In either case, to meet the student loan deadline, I'll self-pay if I get into the AI master's program (I was admitted to the Eastern University program, but I still need to take the assessment).
I still can't help but think that I should really continue the political science master's since it's something that I've always been passionate in learning about but, at the same time, I know that culture fit and flexibility are what I need right now since I want to start a business or search for a job.
Anyway, end of my rant. I'm just really confused about my next steps, but I am going to (re)start going to therapy really soon to (hopefully) understand what I need to do.
