It is not possible to give you the exact questions that were given on the test that I took, for obvious reasons.
Hint #1 Pay particular attention to what is reviewed in Chapter 1 pages 3-15
Hint #2 Since this test is about strategy, I would think that you could reasonably expect to explain how you would grow/lead a business from point A to point B.
Hint #3 With your experience, you already know that there is no 1 perfect stategy that covers all situations, therefore you should be familiar with the generic types of strategy and how to apply them.
Hint #4 All industries have stages of growth....Emerging, Growth, Maturity, Decline...it may behoove you to ponder what stategies might apply to each stage and what strategies might apply when transitioning from one stage to another.
Hint #5 Don't stress, you already know what the essay questions are going to be about.....strategy
Hint #6 Count your blessings. I enrolled in a Business Policy class at Indiana University when I first got the bug to finish my degree. I finished the first assignment. The first assignment required more work (5 page written essay) than this entire test did. What was harder about my class assignment? You had to analzye a specific company in a specific industry...i.e. NetFlix you had to review the financials and give detailed suggestions on how to grow the business in the next few years, deal with its competitors, the industry as a whole, and technological changes, all while maintaining a competitive advantage. It took me a weekend to complete one assignment. I did get an A, but I had to ask myself, should I go through this 13 more times or should I take the TECEP test once and get it over with.
I'm glad I took the test.
The essay questions for this test are generic....
They don't require you to drive a ball 320 yards...it is more like
What club would you use to tee off with on a par 5 and why? What club do you use when you are on the fringe....on the green and why?
Someone could probably make a case for using a 3 wood instead of a driver because the fairway is narrow and its a short par 5....while someone could make as good a case for a driver, and BOTH answers would be correct....after all its about STRATEGY.
