I think it's WGU that's changed the landscape. TESU looks pretty crappy now vs. WGU if you're the BA degree in a year type (6 months ACE credits, 6 months all-you-can-eat WGU). The old TESU from 10 years ago was a lot cheaper and more forgiving.

But I keep coming back because this is a smart group full of good people and even though it's been many years now, I thank this forum for me getting my BS and being inspired to move on to the MBA. I do want to come and help but try to stick to this area since my outdated testing skills are all but worthless anymore.
Real world experience, especially from the perspective of someone at your level, is very valuable. I love reading your posts!

It completely depends. WGU is very limited in their degrees - yes, if you want business, IT, nursing or teaching, then they have a lot to offer. But many people are looking at lots of other things.
Also, if you're someone who has a lot of credits to bring in that will fit well into a TESU degree, then you might be willing to spend more to do a lot less work. I already had all of my UL HR credits save 1 course, had most of my GE, and just needed a few more courses by the time I'd heard of WGU. I would definitely have been moving backwards to switch to that degree by that point in time.
I've looked at hundreds of transcripts now for work and this forum, and I will tell you that at least half of the time, I wouldn't send someone to WGU simply based on what they've already taken, or what degree they want.
