Hi I am taking American Government test next week and I was wondering if anyone has taken it and knows what its like. I wanted to know if it is hard, passable, and if I can be fuly prepared just with IC Academy. Any advise would be helpful! Thank you

Am Gov. was the first test I took. I used IC exclusively and I didn't know about the Specific Feedback forum that would have made some very good suggestions on what to study. Two days before taking the test, I ambled into Barnes & Noble and found the REA book on Am. Govt. - I sat in the store and went through the questions only. When I took the clep, I passed the test with a 68, which at the time, I didn't realize was a pretty good score. The test is tough, mainly because it concentrates on your interpretation of facts as opposed to dates and stuff.
You might want to amble over to free clep prep .com - The fellow there offers a very realistic assessment of Am. Govt. and tons of study materials.
Just remember one thing - cleps are scored 50-80 - 80 being 100% and 50 being passing (it depends on what your school accepts).
Good luck.

I used Cracking the AP US Government and Politics Exam. It covered everything I needed to pass the exam.

This was actually the first test that I took also, so I didn't really know what other resources were available. I looked back through my high school American government textbook a little, but otherwise I used only the IC flashcards - they were great! I was very happy to find that throughout the actual test it kept asking about information that I had studied with the flashcards - especially since I didn't know if the flashcards would really prepare me! Since then, I would recommend using multiple resources, including the Specific Feedback section, but using just the flashcards worked for me

I used a study guide for the AP U.S. Government exam (Princeton Review Study Guide - that I borrowed from the library). Studied the book and did the practice tests. I found it sufficient to pass.
