Hi,
I need to take Managerial/Business Communication for a BSBA from TESC. It seems that Penn Foster is the way to go. Has any one taken it recently? It seems that there was an issue whether TESC would accept ENG 121 from PF toward Manag. Communications. Also, does anyone have any cheap places to take self guided classes other than TESC, PF and LSU? I know those are the basics but I was wondering if there was anything new out there. My goal is a BSBA in accounting from TESC, so any help in that area would be appreciated!
Thank you

I'm scheduled to take Business Communication along with Computer Accounting this fall at Clovis Community College. 6 credits for only $234. The books have so far cost me about 100 ($75 of which is for the accounting class because it can't be a used book). I have one more business communication book to buy, but it's only about 10 bucks on ebay.
The thing is, taking 6 credits was only $50 more than taking 3. Tuition is the same for 7 or fewer credits, but each course has a $50 technology fee. Since I needed both, that's great. Even still, $184 isn't bad for one class. That's cheaper than my local CC.
I'll report on it.

That is very interesting since I am signing up for a Microsoft access course at CCC as well! I have three questions:
1. Do you know what the deal is with TESC accepting these credits? I needed to do the access course for my job so I did not look in to it.
2. Is the business communication also a sixteen week sort of guided class? (Ie you have to follow along and do an assignement every week as apposed to just doing it totaly at your own pace, you have to wait till the end of Aug. to start...)
3. Do you have the course number handy for the business communication class?
I really appreciate your time helping with this, as if it works out you'll have really save me plenty of time and money (that is a great price for six credits!).

1. I'm assuming here that TESC will accept it. It's the exact same title they require and is regionally accredited, so I can't see any reason why they wouldn't. I *think* I originally checked this out because someone else recommended it to me for TESC, but I honestly can't recall. Sorry. If I were enrolled at TESC, I'd double-check it, but I'm not enrolling for my accounting degree until next year. Honestly, I'd be shocked if they didn't accept it (and I'll fight tooth and nail when time comes, if necessary!).
2. Looks like a normal online course to me. I don't think we can go at our own pace.
3. 30042 BAD 201 3N0 3 Business Communication 08/23/10 12/10/10 Online
I love the abbreviation of "Business Administration" as "BAD." So many people look at business as being evil that I wonder if it's intentional (not that I think business is evil--I'm a happy capitalist).

Without looking at the curriculum it sounds like it may be a match. I was approved for a course with the same title via my local CC, and it was actually under the AST (admin support) subject category. Dealt with proper wording, etiquette, etc. for letters, emails, etc.
I m edumakated thanx to distunce lerning.

Before I sign on with CCC, I just wanted to make sure that there is no CLEP, DSST etc, for business communication. Can anyone confirm that?
Thanks!
