help with humanities
#1
I am going to take the humanities clep soon. If anyone has any good info please fill me in. This test has scared me for a long time, This subject is not one of my favorites. I have never been to a oprea or play but I have read some of the classic books only because it was required reading. I dont see any of steven kings classics listed any where, so i am screwed. I listen to country and not classical music. I geuss classical rock will not be on there. I have been to Paris (france and Tennessee) but was more interested in drinking and looking at real women instead of the painted ones.

My suggestion would be to become an 'Instant Cert' subscriber and then checkout the specific exam feedback section.
Also...do a search throughout the forums.
All your questions will be answered
Good luck

It sounds as though you should give yourself extra time for this test...probably between two weeks and a month, depending on how quickly you learn. IC is excellent for this test. I posted more detailed information on what I used in the Specific Exam Feedback section, which you can view once you sign up for InstantCert (which I highly recommend).

The humanities test is very wide, so I suggest you immerse yourself by reading a few short stories, listening to some classical music (which I love Big Grin ), and look up some paintings.

Whenever you come across something in the flashcards about which you've never heard, look it up on Wikipedia or in another encyclopedia. I found that researching it on my own helped the info to stick in my brain even better than with flashcards.

Practice tests may be had in any general exam CLEP prep book. REA, Peterson's, Kaplan, College Board, and others have published such volumes. You should take at least two practice tests to see how you're doing before taking the real exam.

Hope it all turns out well for you!
