Hello! Any ideas on where I can get some good, inexpensive math tutoring for the college mathematics clep test? I need this BEFORE I can start practicing with instacert..... It has been since the '80's since I have done any type of math like this and need to start at ground zero with what the symbols mean etc...
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

I was in pretty much the same boat math-wise and
ALEKS helped me. Did pre-algebra in about a month, then switched to Statistics, because Excelsior wants me to do that before they'll approve me for the Finance DSST exam. Then I go back for Algebra. It's inexpensive, fun, and it works.

If you're a good self-learner, I would recommend the Comex guide for CLEP College Math (as I mentioned in mistae's thread). Pretty simple to understand and lays out everything you need to know to pass.
(And it's much cheaper than hiring a tutoring service.)

If you want some face-to-face time, check your adult ed or community schools for weekend courses. They often help students refresh for local colleges and much more affordable.

That is a great idea and one I had not considered. I am going to look into that.
Thanks.
