Hi all, does the SL first aid/cpr course fit into your general ed courses, it comes in as an HEA course? My thinking is, since it is 2 credits, it would make up for the ethics credit I am missing, and the cornerstone credit I am missing (instead of having to do a 3 credit course), to finish off my gen ed's. I have Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS, so I want to sit down and blow through it before my SL month expires.
Thanks!
Also, I am not sure where it comes in, but have the TEEX cyber security for business professionals (forgot I had that), and the Sofia managing conflict courses, so maybe that could make up for a lost credit, also (and not even take the extra course).

Good afternoon!
Do you know if any other provider has the FIRST AID/CPR course or only SL? If so, any specific reason why your using SL instead of the other ones for that course? Thank you!

HEA courses are Free Electives.
I wouldn't worry about being short a credit until you get to the very end of your Gen Ed section - you never know what will come up later to fit in there, or if you can move things around. But the Sophia course will come in as 1cr in Gen Ed, so that will make up for the missing credit in that area.

Thanks. It looks like my teex course and my sophia conflict course are actually going to finish off my gen ed electives section, so I will not have to take the cpr course or any other one anyways. At least that is how it went when I spoke with advising today. That is great, because that is 1 less course to take or spend money on. Aaaaalmost there :-)

Hi, I have no idea....I don't care about where it was from, I was just looking at it for an easy course, since I perform CPR on rescue randy at least once a month, and have my healthcare provider BLS/CPR/AED, I could breeze through it.

They denied my request for CIS-244 (teex for bus pros) to be placed in general education credits, "per the general education committee", so I am back to being short 2 credits again in gen ed. Dangett. Guess I'm back to doing another 3-credit course.

That's strange, because that course is regularly used in the Science area, and Gen Ed Electives. I might ask again.

Spoke on the phone....denied again. They said the course has multiple codes for the sections they can be used in, and the computer courses they do accept have been noted as having scientific content to it. And The CIS-244 has only a computer and a criminal justice content marker. Some only have the computer aspect (a reason my other computer course doesn't count as gen ed either).
I just will have to take another SDC course or somthing to fill out those final 2 credits in gen ed.

One issue - it's been called CIS-344 for quite a while. So I would question why they are calling it CIS-244 now.
