dfrecore (or ?) PLEASE help with degree plan. Need ASAP
#1
Hello,

dfrecore (or others) I have noticed many times where you (and others) generously offer to help members devise a degree plan. Would you be so kind as to help me figure out the best course of action for myself? I have decided on TESU, but have not actually decided on a degree. I need this degree in order to accept an employment position. I need a Bachelors (in ANY area or field) ASAP. I am posting all my earned credits as well as some that I have planned out. I believe that a degree in Liberal Studies is best? Any other options that I could easily fulfull? Please advise. I really need this job. Thank you for your time!!

I suggest you read through some of the info on the Wiki (it's on my signature).
There's a template I copied from dfrecore and customized it for BSBA using SL/Study.com
I'm adding to this post a BALS using primarily SL/Study.com and Shmoop!
But I used Study.com "psychology" courses instead of "english lit" as you have for Shmoop.
Either way, you'll have to "splurge" on a capstone for each degree...

Thanks! I have downloaded your form. Any suggestions on where some of my courses would fit the best? AT the community College the music course (women in rock and role) was slotted into diversity. Do you think TESU would do the same? I will be submitting my transcripts for eval as soon as I finish the schmoop and Aleks courses.

I created a spreadsheet for you before I saw bjcheung's reply. His might be different than mine.

No, TESU won't take the Rock & Roll course as diversity, but you already have one of those anyway (Anthropology should fit there).

I would probably take more Shmoop courses, the History courses there won't overlap with the ones you already have, Finite Math should be fairly easy after ALEKS, Geometry maybe as well. This would certainly be your cheapest bet, since you're signed up for it anyway.

You should be able to take the rest of these through CLEP/DSST as requested. English Comp, Speech, American Government, can all be done this way.

No need to take anything through SL or Study.com or Saylor if you don't want to (or can't).

Hi,
Thank you both very much!! I really appreciate you taking the time to help me. Sure wish the Musc course would have worked. It was very interesting but now leaves me with needing another course in section D. (Physical and Natural World) I dont really like computer courses, so will look for a science to fill that.
Thanks again!

Edited to ask: Is there another good choice that I can pick up for the Diversity and move Anthro to section D? Or does it not fit there?

LOL, that's wishful thinking. Physical & Natural world = a Science course (Bio, Chem, Physics, Comp Sci/Earth Science)

The easiest two are in the spreadsheet I sent you, it's Environmental Science and Nutrition.

LOL..yeah..if I had a dollar for every wishful thought!
Ok..I will take the one you suggested. (going to have to take a trip to daughters house for her laptop w/ camera - 8 hours away) And take a look at the free teex just for fun!

I really cant thank you both enough! I was having such a hard time trying to slot everything into the right spot and now it makes sense and it looks like I can get this done in short order. (About 6 months if Im lucky and with a lot of hard work)

Just got an email from ACE - my first ALEKS course is now approved so on to the rest! I have tutored in everything except PreCal so hopefully not going to be to difficult

YES!!!!! Just finished ALEKS College Algebra with an 81%!!! Waiting for ACE approval and then on to PreCal. (NOT looking forward to it) Never even looked at PreCal before.

Edited to add that ACE approved it in 20 minutes!! YES!

It's actually ALEKS that approved it so quickly, but yes, many times they'll do it in minutes (some providers take weeks to get it onto your ACE transcript!!).

If you can't finish Precalc, don't sweat it. If you don't need it for your degree, and are just using it as an elective, no need to stress over it. There are other electives you an take instead.

Thanks for the information concerning who does the approval. Still working on the PreCal assessment. Man this stuff is tough!!
