Hi there! I'm in the process of working out a COSC BA in history road map, and I have a question about the gen ed credits. let's say I need 3 credits in non us history/ culture, and I use the English Lit CLEP. The CLEP is worth 6 credits, but I only need 3 credits in that category. Do the extra 3 go to free electives? I haven't seen those mentioned yet on the COSC website.

yes, assuming you have open spaces in that slot. Typically, the open slot over-flows into general education electives, which over-flow into free electives (assuming the college has that type of slot). The only time you really have to worry is when you're getting near the end and have fewer "over-flow" slots left. For instance, if you have NO free electives or gen eds, then excess humanities would be lost.
