credit by exam to letter grade conversion at Excelsior
#1
I've searched this site and Excelsior's site for the DSST to letter grade conversion without success. I would like to know just to satisfy my curiosity regardless of the answers to my other questions below.

The real reason I'm posting is I'm wondering if it would be helpful for graduate school admissions to spend the money for DSST letter grades at Excelsior.

How about submitting DSST and hopefully Torah scores that qualify for an A at Excelsior to help bring up the student's GPA? Not many graded courses have been taken, so each additional A would make a difference. Can you get credits for Excelsior without being a real degree seeking student and how much would it cost?

Excelsior only awarded letter grades for DSSTs with two-digit scores. I believe all of them have been refreshed to three-digit scores now. Excelsior has not come up with a new system of assigning grades to the refreshed DSSTs.

The TESC capstone will be graded and if an A is achieved that will help the overall GPA. If the degree is being conferred at TESC they will only report the class taken at TESC as the final GPA. So the Grad school would have to then decide about adding the other courses for total GPA. As far as I remember even when Excelsior gave a grade for DSST they were only reviewed that way by Excelsior other colleges just gave a pass/fail. If the GPA is close you might consider sending DSST and CLEP B grade equivalency sheets if the test grades were good enough.Just a thought
