Hello. I posted a couple of days ago that I found the best evaluation from TESC. I think however that I'm going to go with Excelsior because it's cheaper actually! Why take out debt when I could do it without the burden. TESC did a great eval. but I'm afraid Excelsior will be a better deal! Hopefully with these flashcards I can pass these exams!

How will Excelsior be cheaper? Have you looked into TESC's Per Credit Tuition Plan? Unless you almost have 120 credits, I don't see how Excelsior could be cheaper. Even if you have almost 120 credits, TESC can be cheaper.

I'm going with Excelsior too. The total fees total up to around $1500 for a year, whereas tesc is over $3k. If u plan on testing out the majority of your courses, then this is the route to go. I believe the only actual courses I'll have to take is my capstone and the info literacy. But excelsior is $465/hr and tesc is $491/hr. Good luck!!

If you join the Peace Officers Assn of Georgia for $20 (an EC partnership), you can get that down to $380/hr from $465/hr, and reduce your graduation fee to $130 from $495. It will also reduce your annual fee to $225 since your completing less the 6 EC credits.

It is important to remember the reduced enrollment and graduation fee depend on taking a minimum of 12 credits through Excelsior.

A total test-out degree would include 8 TECEPs, totaling $888 plus application and graduation fees.
A nearly total TESC test-out degree of 7 TECEPs plus 1 Capstone will total $777 + ($491 x 3) + application and graduation fees.
That'd be cheaper than Excelsior, wouldn't it?

I'm not really familiar with the TECEP's, but you only have to take 8 to graduate?? If that's the case then I'll switch, but I'm not sure where the number 8 is coming from? Please explain. I'm starting from scratch, are you transferring in credits?

You need a total of 24 credits in the per credit residency plan. Each test provides 3 credits, therefore to fullfill this requirement with only TECEPs you would need to pass 8 TECEPs. I believe the current price is $111 each.
I switched from Excelsior to TESC after paying enrollment at Excelsior, because it was cheaper when considering how my testing credits were evaluated. I would have had to seek quite a few extra UL classes at Excelsior to graduate. The per credit enrollment option made this an easy choice. I will say that Excelsior was much faster at responding to my questions and evaluating my credits, but this isn't a significant reason for me to recommend them.
Currently studying for: Still deciding.

No, if you enrolled with the Multi-source option, the $1065 enrollment fee covers the whole first year. Then, you "only" need $495 for the Student Service Annual Fee to keep your enrollment current and extend it for another year. The chart is confusing:

That makes sense mednat, which helps to explain the residency issue. But that only accounts for 24 credits, you still would need to find 96 more credits. If I transferred in a bunch of credits, then that would absolutely make sense. But in my case, I have none except a bunch of unusable Westwood credits, which Excelsior is happily accepting 30 of those credits. TESC and COSC won't take them at all.
