If this is true then it could explain what's going on. Just a WAG here, but licensing ALEKS to colleges for use with their math courses would be far, far more lucrative than individual students taking ALEKS courses. No need for ACE review either.
Total WAG, but it wouldn't be the first online supplement McGraw-Hill has made available for colleges, and makes more sense than an arbitrary decision to let the review expire.
