Ugh, I tell ya, I just can't get motivated!! I think it's spring fever or something. I hate my current class (well, not all of it, most of it) and have a 20 page paper to write - my motivation is zero. I have my book to finish (not "hard" stuff, but I never seem to have a good opportunity to sit down and rock it out- always a million things get in the way then I hit a wall). Also, I'm so ready for the end of my kid's school year. I told my 17 year old to grade his own test today (lol) and my 7 year old to have his brother grade his math. I know, not the end of the world, but every now and then I just would rather do nothing. Ok, all done whining.

I completely understand, it happens. Some days I feel like I could take on the world, other days I just don't care and would love to do a lot of nothing (or just catch up on sleep.)
You will snap out of it

Take a cruise and you can hang out on the Lido Deck with a Funship special drink of the day while getting in some reading and writing; it's all the motivation you'll need!

Cookderosa, Do what I did. Take some advice from the forum. Or from a Nike commercial. Somewhere. Just do it. A while back, I signed up for some correspondece courses, and started out great guns. Then some things happened to throw me off my stride, and I couldn't get my momentum going again. The end of the term is what finally motivated me, and guess what? All of those things (including papers - ugh!) got done. Were they perfect? No, but I've found that my striving for perfection gets in my way of doing anything. Until very recently, I didn't even touch the finance course. Guess what? I did well on two quizes. Just start taking a nibble at what you have to do, and you'll be surprised at how fast you eat away at that chocolate bar. I mean elephant. No, I mean course.

Preach it, sister.
Between work and school, I am experiencing burnout to the nth degree. I think sometime soon I will stop getting overtime at work, so that will help, but I'm just so ready to be done with school for a while! Ten weeks left!
Anyway, I'm done hijacking your pity parade, let the whining continue

A bit off thread, but I have a question. How do the British pronounce the word that they use for whining? I [I]think[I]it's spelled whinging. I don't know, if it sounds different, I don't think it would have the onomatopoeic effect that the American version has. (And yes, I am posting to avoid doing things that I really SHOULD be doing.)

I do believe they pronounce it like "cringe" but with a "wh" :p

Everyone hits a brick wall now and then. Lord knows I have hit them head-on a few times over the last few years! I think having a clear and definitive goal to work towards helps a lot. If you can keep focused on the goal and then reflect on how far you have come it helps to put some pep back in your step. I'm really having to push through these days, but I do know the end is in sight. I like Shoto's idea. If you can't take a cruise a drink with an umbrella in it, in your bathtub with a boat toy might do the trick!!! No Gopher, Julie or Isaac to cheer you up, but they are always on Netflix!
