I'm working on my Graduate Certificate in American History and Masters (Public Administration) with AMU right now. So far, for a Grad school, I think the work load is a lot less than what I had at the Undergrad level with Excelsior. The courses are 16 wks long, I have about 8 discussion posts, one midterm multiple choice exam open book non-proctored, one 500 minimum word essay, a research proposal of 250 words minimum and a Research paper of 3750 words minimum. This is way less than what I had to write at Excelsior. Just my experience though.

I would have to say like the other poster that the workload is alot easier I feel that other schools if not the same. I have 2 friends that go there and I help them with their homework and laugh at how easy it is.
I personally hate AMU/APU I enrolled and dropped 2 times because they just act like they are being bothered answering my questions when i call. I understand they are one of the cheapest for grad school. But, I would rather give my money to a school that pretends to care.

I got great customer service from APUS a few years ago, but I tried contacting them last year and this year and they acted like they didn't care if I enrolled or not. I gave up on them last year when looking to complete my bachelor's and applied at the Big 3. They gave me the runaround trying to find out who was my academic counselor from when I had applied with them a few years ago. I sent transcripts to them that were never posted. I tried to ask them questions about their master's programs this year and I was told to call back when I was within three months of enrolling. Every other school I contacted was more than willing to spend 30 min. on the phone with me discussing their programs. They understood that some people actually care to vet potential schools ahead of time so they can make a choice, take GRE/MAT/GMAT tests, fill out the applications, get recommendations, write essays, and turn in financial aid forms early. By the time I can even talk to an admissions representative at AMU, I will, hopefully, already be accepted somewhere else.
