Which of the big three is the cheapest?
#1
Hey I need to finish my degree. I have 78 credits, and am going for a bachelor
's in accounting or finance probably. I am price conscious, and I have checked out thomas edison, and it seems pretty pricey. I was wondering if excelsior may be a little cheaper. Any advice?

You might find some old postings on this subject if you search, but I don't think it is that simple. It depends on what you have, what you need, where you live, and your final goal - in the long run.

For example, when I first poked around and took a look at TESC it charges more for people who are not residents of New Jersey. That made the costs prohibitive for me, since I live in Florids. I didn't even go any further than that.

I suspect that you will have to take the time to do your own homework on this one.

I can't talk about EC because I haven't looked into it at all, but I am enrolled at COSC and DH is going to enroll at TESC once he has a few more credits under his belt, so I am familiar with both of those.

TESC will cost $2800 to enroll. It's a one time fee with no payment options and depending on your major, you are not required to take any classes. Currently, their capstone is still just "strongly recommended", not required.

COSC costs $1500 to enroll, but unlike TESC, you can choose to pay them in 3 or 4 months. However, they do have a capstone requirement, and I think they've also added a cornerstone class since I enrolled. I'm not totally sure about that since it doesn't apply to me. COSC costs $275 per credit hour. So, Overall, COSC could be more expensive, but you don't have to pay everything at once, so depending on your budgeting style, it might be a little easier to swallow.

HTH.. would love to see an EC cost breakdown.

Edit to add TESC cost breakdown. So, if you do plan on taking classes at TESC, looks like $193 per credit Thomas Edison State College | Enrolled Options Plan
