I basically want to take 1 class there so I can brag(cough) about graduating with a 4.0 GPA in a B.S. Liberal Arts, not that I had bad grades at my former B&M school mind you. So what do you guys think would be that absolute easiest class to take to glide by with an A with minimal study? I was hoping for something like a typing class, but couldn't find one in the list. What are your opinions?

I tried the same thing. Been in high level sales for the past 7-10 years (with lots 'o professional sales training) therefore chose "principles of sales". Not as easy as I thought it would be. I could pretty easily pass the class with a C without much effort but has been pretty difficult to get an A. You must read/quote the book to write the 6 papers my class requires and you must take a proctored/closed book midterm using info from the book.
Still not as hard as some of the recent CC classes I took such as Statistics or Biology but not the "piece of cake" that I thought it would be.
I'll finish with a 4.0 at both TESC(tests) and my local CC(classroom).
Hope something I said helps in some way

Go through each one and read the syllabus until you find what you're looking for. It won't be study that makes it hard- it will be the homework and exams graded by a human instead of a computer!

It seems that picking the class isn't the problem, but getting all the work, it seems they give quite a bit of homework, 6 papers....that reminds me of my "american legal system" class I took at my old b&m school....I still have nightmares from that class...never had to write so many papers for a class in my life... we had to read a ~600 page book and write a legal summary on each chapter...the book had 14 or 15 chapters...not only reading around 90 pages a week + writing 2 papers a week... I though I was going to die in that class. I still got an A- but it was not an easy A- at all I was the only A in the class the average for it was C+ B-, I was the only person to write all the papers.... because of 1 question I got wrong in the final I didn't get an A for the class, instead of the A- I got ![Sad Sad](https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/images/smilies/sad.png) . Did I mention this was a accelerated 8 week class where we had only the first 7 to do all the work ![Smile Smile](https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/images/smilies/smile.png) .

I guess I have to find something that is not based on subjective grading, preferably some 101 science or something class...I truly dislike subjectively graded classes. Mostly because your grade depends on so much that has nothing to do with your skill or knowledge in the class. Generally speaking, how much the professor doesn't dislike you because if he does... you ain't getting that A even if what you do is worth a Nobel Prize.

Maybe do the Living In The Information Age. I think it was an SOS, but could have been SOC or PSY since I took a bunch of those too.
If I remember correctly, we didn't do any exams, and all of our work was through a computer-graded assessment system. I think we didn't have a book too- but there was forum requirements, but that's no big deal.

 Now can anyone give me any advice? I waited until the last minute I wanted to do the August or Sept semester but I couldn't come up with the money. I finally broke down and begged my mother-in-law and she promised to send me the money so on the last day of late registration I CHARGEd it. Now I just have to hope she comes through.
So how many people here have taken this and how much reading and how many papers?? I have a part time teaching position until at least mid Oct. and I need to finish this class on time with a good grade.
By the way does anyone know how maany TESC credits you have to have to get a TESC GPA this will only be 9 for me? I thought it might be fun to go for a well rounded degree with a GPA I have 37 year old B & M classes, TECEP's, DSST's CLEP's and I may just go for one ECE and now 2 online courses. I could maybe fit in one or 2 PLA's but I don't think they count towards GPA so they may not be worth it. If 12-15 credits will get me a GPA I may try to go for it.

No offense and just my humble opinion but is it really worth borrowing money to try for that 4.0 GPA? An employer doesn't care about GPA and any potential grad school will look at the transcript and see the 4.0 came from one course. Grad school admissions depts scrutinize transcripts fairly well and I think it would be obvious. I am biased as I thought about going that route myself but decided to graduate with a "no GPA" TESC degree. I feel better explaining my "no GPA" and the resourcefulness it took to get it than telling them I have a 4.0 and having them look at me like I'm trying to pull a fast one. They usually base GPA requirements on the last 60 credits, not the last 3. But then I am in my forties with a long resume and references so your situation might be different.
Again, just my humble, jaded opinion.
Congratulations on going this far! If it's worth it to you, the 4.0 is still a nice thing.

I understand this post is not necessarily on-topic, but I'm looking for help in understanding college GPA's. For instance, I've read that TESC doesn't give you a degree with a GPA, unlike Excelsior which does. Is this true? From the main post here, it sounds like TESC DOES give a GPA.
Also, does a CLEP score effect your GPA? For instance, I scored a 53 on U.S. History I, my lowest score yet. Will that impact GPA or are ALL CLEP and DSST's pass/fail, with no impact on GPA?
I would greatly appreciate any former-experience-help! Thank you!
