I want to study in a competency-based program, but before I pay $2000-3000 for a semester of classes, want to know what they are like. I contacted some schools, but they don't have a demo and there is no refund available. Does anyone know a competency-based program that has a demo, so I can see what it will be like and whether it suits my learning style? Or maybe a 1-month free trial?

Capella has free demos for their FlexPath programs. You can keep an eye on Walden to see when they offer their free first term deals for TempoLearning.

If you're into information technology, go watch the Professor Messer A+ videos, read an A+ book, and then go take the CompTIA A+ exams. That's pretty much what WGU's IT programs are like.
