So now that i know for sure completely testing out for your degree is possible. Can those that have completed their degree using this method share the path they used? I believe for a business degree from Exeisior I will need about three regular length courses. Everything else is avail through their own exams dantes or Clep. I cant wait to start!
Probably the most critical path was absorbing the excellent advice gleened from this forum. I started June 2007 with a little over 60 liberal arts credits from 30+ years ago and spent the next 6 months knocking off 72 credits, primarily the courses needed for the business degree.
You will see some overlap as you begin taking the business courses, therefore it makes sense to attempt to take them in an orderly fashion....usually the pre-reqs and basic courses first....i.e....don't take Money and Banking or before macro and micro
The forum is full of topics on this subject...so make sure to use the search feature extensively.
If I were 26, I'd definitely bang out the BGB from Excelsior and then concentrate on an MBA. That's the first thing that sinks in....Hey not only is a Bachelor's doable, if I get my Bachelors from Excelsior, I could then get a Master's in the time frame that I originally felt it would take just to do my Bachelor's.
Good luck and stick close to this forum!
Excelsior - BS Business 2008
Son #1 TESC BSBA Computer Information Systems completed June 2010
Son #2 TESC BA Computer Science completed November 2010 Currently in Florida State (FSU) Masters CS program and loving it
I have tested out of 102 credits in 2 and half years for BSBA at TESC. I was required to take just one class but chickened out and am now taking two.
It is definitly doable if you are motivated!

In terms of my path, I used credit-by-exam at my local community college as well as a combination of on-line classes and CLEP, DSST and ECE exams (and one TECEP which is no longer valid for the EC business degree) to complete the requirements. You can see my general progression and approach by clicking on the various links in my signature. I've also attached my degree plan for reference. Hope this helps you narrow things down.
