What should I do??
#11
Why not take more CLEP,DSST,TECEP,ECE exams and be done in even less time? I don't know the specifics, but around here UofP has a rep as low quality and high cost.

I did 35 credits in 7 months on a not too stressful schedule while working 1/2 to full time. I did a mixture of testing, classes, FEMA and Aleks. All for under $3000 at TESC.

Also, someday maybe a MS in Forensic Psychology, just for fun.   Oh, and a BS in Animal Behavior.  And, maybe when I'm 85 a PhD in something fun.

UoP accepts a max of 30 CLEPS. (Credit Transfer Policy - University of Phoenix)

TESC has a much higher ceiling. The main issue I would take up with Phoenix is that they are not the best value for the $. They are a for-profit business, not a public college. They do not have Government subsidized grants/funds and are in the field to make a profit.

I could not comment on the quality of education they provide, nor cust service or ease of use. I have been happy with two out of those three at TESC myself.

In briefly scanning TESC's BSBA program in Gen. Management, I spotted around 75 potential CLEP/DSST credits. At 25 tests at $100 each = $2500

According to UoP website (Tuition and Financial Options - University of Phoenix)

75 credits at $550 per credit = 75*550=$41,250
Assuming you maxed out 30 credits from CLEP at $100 each, you're still looking at $27,750. Not counting a enrollment fee of $90 per course you take, good for another $2250. And you haven't started on the other 45 credits yet.
Employer contributions may help significantly, but these are figures based off of their website.

At TESC, after testing out of 75 courses with CLEP ($2500), you can take the remaining 45 credits at TESC for $15,200, taking the first 24 credits the first year and the remaining the second year.
(Thomas Edison State College | Cost Calculator)
Total cost - $2250 + $15200 = under $18K.

I appreciate your math. You make my decision much easier. I am addicted to cleps and like the fact that I can do this with business courses.
