What's the fasted online college for someone who has 18 Sophia credits?
#1
I've completed 6 Sophia courses (Introduction to Information Technology, Introduction to Psychology: Smarter Decisions Through Psychology, Microeconomics, Principles of Management, Visual Communications, and Workplace Communication). I have a total of 18 potential transfer credits and I want to finish my undergraduate degree in as little time as possible and hopefully, as cheaply as possibly. I'm looking to get a degree in business administration and add on some technical certifications along the way.

Excluding WGU (I'm not going to take part in their intrusive proctoring requirements), which college is best for a person who's looking to go at their own pace and get a degree in as little time as possible with as little red tape and BS involved as possible?

Thanks for any and all replies.

@SMTWS, It really depends on the person and their study habits, you're going to get various answers that swing in multiple directions... With the brief info you have provided, I would not have a real concrete answer for you as many pieces of information in the addendum/template is missing. I would highly recommend you complete them before deciding which options you have are better, as you'll review your own scenario and see which learning medium fits you more. Either UMPI's BABA/Mgmt degree, which is a CBE (competency-based) or Excelsior's BSBA (transfer in 113cr from Sophia and either Davar, Coopersmith, or Study.com for your UL).

18 credits isn't even 10% of a Bachelor's degree. How fast did you complete them? If it took you a while, UMPI is NOT going to be the school for you. If you completed them in a week, UMPI may be the school for you. If by "own pace" you mean "go slowly", you'll want either TESU or Excelsior. If you mean "go quickly", UMPI is solid.

When you're banging out Sophia courses, do you go as fast as possible or do you carefully read all the material to ensure that you've retained as much as possible?

It depends on the person and the course. For me, there were some courses where I read literally nothing because I was already very familiar with the material. With other courses, I read everything and sometimes even had to watch the provided optional videos.

Most of the Gen Eds is about getting through. If you're going for a business degree then yes, you'll want to retain some of that financial accounting and the like - but something like art history is a 'get it done' and move on.
