So I've been a big time lurker on this site. I know this is my 3rd post but I've been reading this site for a couple of years (on and off) and trying to get a plan in action.
As you can see below I'm starting to rack up credits. I want to know what my best options would be. I'm looking for a combo of speed and price. My budget is about $10K (for everything), although I could be persuaded to spend more if it made sense and of course prefer to spend less.
I think in a few weeks I'll try getting the Pierpont AAS. I do want the bachelor's though, so I'm open to suggestions. I was thinking maybe one of the IT degrees but I don't want to deal with anymore math. I'm math'ed out. I'm an NJ resident if that helps.
My goal is to have a bachelor's degree completed by the end of this year or first quarter of next year.
I've looked at tons of different schools like Brandman, WGU, ASU, NAU, TESU, and a whole bunch of others in between.
Devry (from 20 years ago)
ENGL108 Composition/Lab - 3
HUMN410 Contemp History - 3
Everything else is from the last 9 months:
ASU (finish in 2 weeks)
COM100 Introduction to Human Communication - 3
EXW100 Introduction to Health and Wellness - 3
ACE credits
American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACFTL)
ACTF-0049 ACFTL - Reading - 3
American Institute for Chartered Property
AICP-0121 Ethics and the CPCU Code - 3
Google/Coursera
GOOG-0001 Google IT Support Professional Certificate - 12 (probably not)
Sophia
SOPH-0010 Accounting - 3
SOPH-0006 Art History I - 3
SOPH-0001 College Algebra - 3
SOPH-0021 Developing Effective Teams - 1
SOPH-0026 Essentials of Managing Conflict - 1
SOPH-0023 Introduction to Information Technology - 3
SOPH-0003 Introduction to Psychology - 3
SOPH-0004 Introduction to Sociology - 3
SOPH-0005 Introduction to Statistics - 3
SOPH-0012 Macroeconomics - 3
SOPH-0011 Microeconomics - 3
SOPH-0016 Environmental Science - 3
SOPH-0028 Student Success - 1
TEEX
TEEX-0279 Information Security for Everyone - 1
Will probably get done in the next couple of weeks (all from Sophia):
Introduction to Business - 3
Project Management - 3
Conflict Resolution - 3
Ancient Greek Philosophers - 3
Approaches to Studying Religions - 3
Human Biology - 3
US History II - 3
As soon as the ACFTL stuff goes back on ACE I'll probably go for the writing, speaking and listening credits for at least 9 more credits, potentially more.
Which brings me to my problem. I'm earning all of these credits and don't have a step 2. Should I just start applying everywhere and see where my credits fit? Should I wait until I'm done with the Sophia courses and then start applying? Should I wait until ACFTL is back on ACE and see where those credits land, maybe some will show as upper level?
I don't have any specific degree in mind but I'm thinking IT, human resources or business administration would all be things that I have previous experience with.
