If you get the maximum pell grant, it would significantly cheaper to take 16 credits at TESU in a term, then it would be to transfer 114 credits. Just a thought. Huge $$ savings if you qualify for max pell. Stress level though could be a lot depending on work schedule.

This is a fair point, but with my work schedule, it would be so difficult. Juggling 8 credit hours at a B&M with my ADHD drove me insane, so I know I wouldn’t survive 16, haha.

16 credits on one term is reasonable - only if you are a Full Time student. Since taking the courses impact your GPA; it requires commitment to doing well, not just getting through the courses. Many may not be able to dedicate the necessary time required to warrant the dollars saved; especially adults students (who need to work to live/paybills). Also, I suspect that you overestimate the amount of people who would qualify for a Pell Grant in any amount; never mind those who would qualify for the maximum amount ( https://trends.collegeboard.org/student-...-over-time).

Yeah I never said it would be practical from a time stand point. It was just a thought.
I do qualify for maximum Pell due to the fact I spend a year volunteering full time and literally had zero income for year.
Another thought would be to spread out the 16 credits over two-three terms with Pell even if it isn't maximum, I still think it would be a cost savings.
Again just a thought.
Everyone is different but with TESU changes taking 16 credits is something to at least consider to save money.

16cr in a 12-week term is a LOT for a part-time student for sure. I personally would not have been able to handle that load.
Also, if you qualify for Pell, that might be an option, but be aware that it's going to take a lot longer to graduate. If you could take 114cr alternatively and then take your final 2 courses in a term, you might be able to be done in a year. If you got a job (or raise or promotion), it would more than offset the amount you'd spend to get the 114cr in probably a single year. Multiply that by 2-3 years...

Good points. Now with SOS-110 in place though students who qualify for pell it least makes sense to take sos-110 alongside the capstone to make the most their aid money. But the 16 credits, I guess it all depends on the person and also the classes the student is taking. Another option would to do e-pack or guided study courses or the 6 credit social psych.
I took 19 credits one semester, but most of them were communication arts courses (video, acting, etc.) with little to no hw as all the work was interactive and done in class. So it really wasn't difficult in fact, a semester that I took less courses was actually more difficult. It all depends on the courses.

I took 21 credits of classes 1 semester. I remember it being exceptionally difficult. I talked about it here in this post from 2012 https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...small+kids
"...There is no such thing as balance- there are only 24 hours in a day and you either do a few of them really well or some of them sucky. I picked being a rock star mom weekdays and a sucky mom on weekends. It's the truth. One semester I enrolled in 21 credits of COURSES. So, that stuff takes time. ..."

Same cost as regular TESU courses.

I would only recommend doing the 16 credits at TESU in one term if it was the easiest of all their Upper Level credits that can't be found elsewhere. This will hit the residency waiver and eliminate most of the UL requirements for any of the degrees TESU offers. This is after the person transfers in at least 104+ credits into the degree and preferably the person has 3 months educational leave off work just to complete this task...
