Transcripts finally all in and checked off at COSC for an Associates degree Dec graduation for DD#1!!! She has a total of 99 college credits and will have another 23 by the time she graduates high school this May. I would like to thank the members of this forum. You all are awesome! The info I have gleaned from the copious hours of reading posts, figuring out how this all works so I could best plan her classes is nothing short of utter abundance. Also, I can't tell you how much wiser as a parent of a soon to be college student I have become just in shopping for a college in her career field. I have become a natural at being able to speak knowledgeably to financial aid, admissions, and most importantly, the Registrar!
She has been accepted into several direct entry nursing programs. At one institution where 2 semesters she won't have full time credit, they filled and planned in Independant Study to include working in the ER with the Sexual Assult Nurse Examiner unit and victim advocacy group - the exact field she will persue after college- to bring her back up to full time. Yes, she will be putting hours towards her SANE nurse certification. The amount of money and time she has saved by testing and dual enrollment in high school has saved us thousands of dollars and years off of her eventual college degree. Thank you all!
