WGU transfer/ACE policy?

WGU isn't very clear on their site about their transfer policy (anywhere that I've tracked down, at least).

They say they'll evaluate transcripts and accept accredited credit, but they don't say what their max credit acceptance is. Any insight?

They also don't mention ACE, but I know they are a Straighterline partner. So they at least accept SOME alternative sources. I found some old threads here indicating that they accepted ALEKS, anyone know if that's still the case, or know of other ACE sources they'll consider? Likely not NCCRS friendly, I assume?

I did a quick search of the forum and didn't find much, at least not current. Sorry if I overlooked something obvious, but please point the way if so!

I see they're Sophia partners as well. I'm hoping they accept ACE transfers from places they're not explicitly partners with, but I know that might not be likely.

I'm mainly curious about just how much credit they'll accept (and convert to their own "competency units")

I can't link to the pages now, but they do have equivalencies listed on their website for alternative sources. As far as how many credits they transfer, I've only seen them say that courses in the major aren't likely to transfer.

In their FAQ, they keep talking about lower division credits.

They accept all kinds of ACE credit. Definitely the Gen Ed's, not sure on the major though. But it's pretty easy to call and ask them, they are certainly more helpful than TESU.

I was planning to go to WGU before I found COSC so this info is a couple of years old and from memory.

They will take 90 or at least in the high 80s for transfer credit. I have seen examples of this in posts at Techexams. The capstone must be taken at WGU and depending on the program there may be others too. Google CLEP and WGU and you will find some pages transfer equivalencies. For most ACE you will have to ask them.

This page hasn't been updated since July 2014, but it has links to equivalencies for a few specific degrees and for general education requirements. They mostly list CLEP and independent study courses.
