I recently decided to start a marketing manager B.S. Degree at Western Governor's University (if I get accepted) and my plan is to take as much Clep courses from modern States as possible to transfer over, mainly general education. Is this a good idea? Any help is useful and I appreciate it. Thanks!

You can bring over a lot more than just Gen Ed's. You can do a bunch of the core/major courses as well.
Do you have any previous credits? Have you spent any time on this forum reading about testing out of a degree?
