While browsing around my alma mater's website in a state of lunacy, looking for what I can do next in my academic career, I discovered that WGU's old "Healthcare Informatics" degree has been changed to a "Health Information Management" degree. Initially, I thought -- bleh, medical records, not interesting. But, looking at the curriculum, it's really more of a Healthcare IT degree. They even added in Project+ and Healthcare IT Technician CompTIA certs. Previously, the degree offered just RHIA certification, which is of pretty limited value outside of the medical records department.
If I didn't already have two WGU degrees, I might actually consider going for this as I'm looking to move into nursing informatics and EHR development.
