Vangonotes for Humanities - Anyone used this to CLEP Humanities?
#1
I spend a lot of time in my car driving so I like to use audio stuff as much as possible. I was quite disappointed to see nobody offering audio study guides for CLEP tests, but purchased Vangonotes for Humanities today. So far I have listened to two chapters and thought I was on the right track with this, but going through the flashcards on InstantCert I am not seeing their notes covering the same topics or even close to it. It may be because I haven't gotten far enough into the Vangonotes, but I don't want to be using up valuable study time listening to the wrong material. Has anyone used this to CLEP Humanities? If not, does anyone have any audio suggestions for Humanities.

I LOVED VangoNotes for the Humanities. I also purchased the two-volume text (through half.com) that correlates with the audio. Part of the time I listened to the audio in my car (I too drive a lot), and part of the time I listened to the audio and followed along with the text at home. VERY helpful (I got a 68 on the exam). Humanities is such a broad subject; I thought VangoNotes (with the text) prepared me better than the other resources I used. It IS quite comprehensive, though.

Good luck!

Thank you very much. I am going to price the textbook that corresponds with it. I just wanted to make sure I was on the right track.

Another plug here for VangoNotes. I've used them for marketing, management and accounting- they even made accounting palatable! :-) I'm gathering material for Am Lit and was bummed not to have an audio. I just downloaded the Barons EZ 101. Do you think the Humanities VangoNotes would be useful for the Lit exams?
And...I think I can I think I can I think I can!!

Actually, for me the American Lit exam was useful for the Humanities exam (that's the order I took them). I too used the audio Barron's Study Keys for Am Lit. Since you and tresmom brought up the audio, I have started an Audio Study Resource thread HERE. I hope it's helpful! Which accounting audio did you use? Audible.com has several...

I used the VangoNotes for Financial and Managerial Accounting and it was really pretty enjoyable. I drove from South Fla to NYC and back and listened to both Accounting and Organizational Behavior. I thought I was going to need to declare a Business Concentration to maximize my hours, so I was gearing up to take as many tests as possible while I took the SL course. I even bought the SL text. I jumped the gun- turns out my shortest route to a BA is a Lit Concentration. Honestly, the business degree would have been easier in some ways because there are far more options for credit by exam. The pickins are slim for UL lit. I'll check out your audio thread. I'm an audio hound and am eager to see what juicy tidbits I find there! :-)
