Using Electives to help with a 2nd degree TESU
#1
Can you use your electives from your first degree to help fulfill the requirements on the second degree at TESU?

For instance if you have BSBA in Computer Information Systems from tesu then you are trying to get your BA in History at tesu.
If you took Civ I Civ II as electives for the first degree would that meet the required courses for the history BA? Does it work the same for the electives? If I took DSST history of the soviet union for my first degree can I then use it to fill the UL electives under the history BA?

Also, In the BSBA CIS for example Algebra is required for the degree does that fill the GE requirements for math as well?

Thanks for the help, Couldn't find this information exactly.

I don't know the answer to this question, but TESU will evaluate the transcript for free for a second degree for TESU grads.
BSBA/Accounting TESU (2016). MSA UIUC (2018).

Need help with portfolios? I earned 18 credits at TESU through portfolio evaluations. Nine of those were for upper level accounting courses. My advice for PLA/portfolios: TESU portfolio tips The first post has the Portfolio Checklist I created. Page ten has the actual narrative I wrote to receive credit for ACC-440.

Using Straighterline's Financial Accounting as a substitute for TESU's Intermediate Accounting I? Don't do it if you are an accounting major and/or want your CPA license. They are not the same course and I think TESU has erred in accepting the SL course as Intermediate I. I made this discovery here: Intermediate Accounting II.

They will apply just fine. But it may not be wise to do, as you need another 24 credits in your area of study. So that would make it more difficult to obtain.
We are all on the same side here, trying to better our lives....so let's get along and help each other out.

Learn a trade. Gain technical skills. Make money, then use this money to get a degree...if you have the desire.

When earning a second degree you have to have 24 new credits in the AOS. The new credits have to be completed after the first degree is awarded. So if you wanted to do a BA in history you would have to wait until you graduate with the BSBA before you could start doing the history courses.
