Hi! Any flexible non-general education college classes out there?
Location: California, United States
Age: 18
Seeking: (Upper-level) credits for bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited 4 year college/university
Currently have 60 CLEP/community college credits and 28 credits at the 4 year I currently attend.
I’m permitted to transfer in another 30 credits, but it has to be from another 4 year university. I heard about BYU Independent Study and it seems to be a good fit, but while I’m waiting to hear back from their scholarship office, I’m hoping to learn about other options that are out there.

Thanks for the response! I’m familiar with ASU Universal Learner and they appear to specialize in general education courses. The sources of credit link introduced me to institutions I wasn’t previously familiar with, but the information is either seemingly outdated or there just aren’t enough upper-level courses (ex: U of Idaho offers lot of independent study but primarily in gen eds as well).

"Flexible" and "non Gen Ed" and "From a 4 year university" is easy, it's "cheap" that's the problem.
Here are two options for courses at 4 year B&M schools that start anytime:
1. The University of North Dakota has "Enroll Anytime" courses at around $1200/class ($400/credit), including upper level courses in some disciplines (english, economics, world language, business, marketing, kinesiology, some other health sciences, education): https://und.edu/academics/online/index.h...me&subject=
2. UC Berkeley Extension has a bunch of 2 credit, $500/credit upper level courses. Just make sure their description says "Online, Start Anytime" and "2 semester units" (CEUs don't count): https://extension.berkeley.edu/
For asynchronous options on a set schedule:
1. SNHU offers some asynchronous standalone options at $330/credit: https://www.snhu.edu/online-degrees/classes
2. If you're at a CSU, you can take courses at other CSUs: https://www.csufullyonline.com/
In Progress:
Georgia Tech OMSCS (Fall '24 onward!)
Completed:
* TESU BACS (coursework completed August '24, degree awarded September '24)
* C++ Programming Certificate, Washtenaw Community College (August '23)
* Bachelors of Arts, a Canadian brick & mortar university (2020)

You can enroll as a Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) degree-seeking student at Southern Utah University (SUU); the application fee is waived: https://www.suu.edu/speedway/
The speedway program is $75 a credit UL or LL. It is an RA school if you decide not to continue your studies and transfer the credit. https://www.suu.edu/admissions/transfer-guide.html
SUU accepts most CLEP credits and credits earned at other RA schools but requires at least 30 credits taken from SUU to graduate with distance learning courses, counting towards the residency requirement. I believe SUU also requires 30/120 credits to be upper level. The coursework is offered over a term.

I’m already enrolled at a university where I’m very close to completing my 30 credits of residency. After finishing with my summer classes, I’ll only have 2 classes left in my bachelor’s degree.

Basically, here is another option for you, if you're interested in something self-paced and you're not adverse to proctored exams, plus if you don't mind they're not graded, you can try TESU TECEP exams, they're RA but you don't get a grade, they're all pass/fail. Plenty of upper level options to select from Link: https://www2.tesu.edu/listalltecep.php and they're $77/credit or $231/3 credit exam, as per the link here: https://www.tesu.edu/tuition/pla-tuition
