what does this mean exactly and how can I check it ?
I understand regional and national accreditation in the US, but what is "US equivalency recognition" for Liverpool John Moores University
and even though online degrees are becoming accepted it still seems really weird to me for someone living in New York City to get a degree from England

According to this page, LJMU received their royal charter in 1992. I believe this is the UK equivalent of regional/national accreditation.

Also, most of their IT programs are accredited by the British Computer Society, which could be the equivalent of RA + ABET.
I can't say much about the weirdness, but it depends on for what purpose one is trying to use this degree. IMO In the field of IT no one cares about the school, if it's not Ivy. and in the academic world, an academic evaluation is all needed, and I am hopeful WES et al will evaluate these degrees as equivalent to a US RA degree.

Half the people at universities seem foreign. I don't know that anyone would think getting a degree from a 24,000 student state university in England is somehow odd. Getting a degree away from home might be looked upon as a sign of maturity.

eh, its one thing to travel abroad and study -- you get the experience of the language, the culture and see the sights
its another to sit at home and do a foreign degree online when your own city has 100 different universities and community colleges

This forum is all about distance/online education that is doable from anywhere. No one is forcing anything on anyone here. We are just discussing options. If an option doesn't suit you, you can choose another one that does.

Does anyone else see a price jump? I see the artificial intelligence program listed at $9500 now. Are there any scholarships or anything available?
