So I have bounced back and forth between a BA Natural Sciences and Mathematics major and a BSBA, Accounting major. I'm so indecisive! However, many of you had a great point. Try out an Accounting class first. I'm great with numbers, but must give this a shot first. If I can handle it, I'm going for the BSBA. If not, I'm considering the BA. It just looks like I'm going to "lose" a lot of transfer credits with the BSBA (they won't be applied) vs. going with another major. Trying to find a major that is "solid", per se and takes all of my credits. Preferably not social sciences or anything in the humanities realm. Otherwise, I guess I will bite the bullet and go for the BSBA. Hope I can afford that.

My goal is/was to finish December 2011 and graduate no later. I don't know if that's realistic. To my excitement, I actually have 80.5 potential transfer credits! Not just 62. I deleted all Withdrawal, Fail, and No Pass classes.

Click Excel attachment to see credits that I have so far.

I figured this would be easiest way to view. If there's another way please let me know and I will edit/update.

I appreciate all your feedback and advice. I'm not sure how many of these 80.5 credits would even count toward a BSBA. I realize most of them would count toward a BA, however.

Anyone? I'm so tempted to finish up my Bachelors in Natural Sciences or Mathematics or Economics because it seems like I won't need too many credits. From what I am understanding and looking at, I'm going to be doing a LOT of starting over with a BSBA degree. I'm looking to finish my Bachelors ASAP and then I figure I can just apply to a MBA program or some other great grad school program.

Now that you have made a decision....What is your plan/roadmap for filling out the AREA OF FOCUS ........requirements for the BA Nat Science/Math? Thomas Edison State College | BA in Natural Sciences/Mathematics Credit Distribution

1. Students complete 33 credits in the natural sciences/mathematics concentration.

2. At least three different subjects must be included, which provides for breadth of knowledge in the natural sciences/mathematics. Also, students must earn at least 12 credits in one subject area. A maximum of 18 credits can be earned in any one subject area in order to have a balanced interdisciplinary concentration.

3. Courses transferred to Thomas Edison State College are equated to the following levels: 100, 200, 300 or 400. A maximum of two college-level courses equating to the 100 level can be applied toward the area of concentration. A minimum of 18 credits equating to 300 or 400 Thomas Edison State College courses are required.

How will you fill the 18 hour UL requirement?

Lay it on us.

You will not receive any transfer credit for your Math in Action course, so you need to remove the 5.5 credits from your plan. Developmental courses never count towards your degree plan.

Still scratching my head and trying to figure out how many of my credits will transfer now that I know math in action won't.

Geezer's question should actually be your priority- Gen Ed and electives can be tested out of, but the UL Nat Sci/Math courses generally cannot be.

Comparing my transcripts to the requirements and figuring it out. It looks like I am losing a lot of credits vs. being able to transfer everything to COSC Sad Maybe I made a mistake.

Have you considered a BSBA in Hospital Healthcare Administration.
"This area of study is designed to provide students with the managerial skills, attitudes and knowledge needed for administrative/management careers in the healthcare field. Hospital healthcare administration is appropriate for students who wish to work or are working in responsible management positions in a wide variety of medical and healthcare institutions and agencies such as hospitals, health maintenance organizations, physicians’ group practices, and voluntary and governmental agencies."
You could possibly leverage some of the nursing credits under the Learner-Designed Area of Study. Wouldn't hurt to check into it? You would then have the best of both worlds in one business degree.

"Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it and staying with that plan." -Tom Landry

College Student- it looks to me like you can use the A&P I and II and Chemistry credits towards the Nat Sci/Math Area of Study, giving you 12 LL, and you can use the basic Biology course and Microbiology toward your Nat Sci/Math Gen Ed requirements (you'll need a math course as well). That's a pretty good start. The Gen Ed stuff you can test out of. here's what I recommend for the Area of Study:

LL

Anatomy & Physiology I and II 8 credits 200 level already completed
Chemistry 4 credits 100 level already completed
Environment and Humanity DSST 3 credits 200 level

UL

Management Info Systems DSST 3 credits
Environmental Science course (actual title escapes me) TESC 6 credits

For the remaining 8 credits, take 2 UL courses in Biology at Empire State College.

Maybe someone should explain FEMA credits to the OP- I am sure 27 free credits will alter her perspective.

OP- I didn't notice any English Comp on your transcript. I recommended looking into that CLEP exam as your first step- TESC will probably require the essay version.

Thanks you're awesome! I have taken Eng 101, so I am not sure why it's not up there. Going to look into it. Do you think it's still possible for me to graduate by Dec. 2011 if I go through ESC to take my 2 UL Bio courses?
