University of Helsinki: Free Courses, “IN ENGLISH” + FREE + SELF-PACED + For Credit
#1
All University of Helsinki, “IN ENGLISH” + FREE (tagged: "free for all", and "free for undergrads") + ASYNC/SELF-PACED (MOOC) + For Credit, 55 unique courses:
/
Note: this is animuscerebri's find, but I posted to new topic

animuscerebri, other thread:
Quote:"All of them are free, of high quality, and from one of the best universities of the world.

You can easily fill up your 24 RA creds requirement at TESU.
My recommendation: do 50 ECTS (become at least 25 US creds) worth of free courses at the University of Helsinki, send that to a foreign creds evaluator, such as ACEI (I used them for Helsinki, and they were fast), and ACEI sends it to TESU, and you're done with RA requirements. ACEI will charge about $250 for one course-by-course transcript evaluation right now, but you'd check their current prices, I did it last year.

Heck, you can also take random courses like Basics of Agricultural technology or Me and my cat, me and my dog courses, if you like to meet the RA creds this way.

What are you waiting for? Smile"

/
Me, other thread:
Quote:50 ECTS > I will make a "set" for us all to do that is "FOOL PROOF" (BUT MADE BY A FOOL, me, lol) for "easy" passes
IMHO = #'s 5 to 10 > $'s 23 to 24 > #'s 39 to 44 > Solo #46 > #'s 49 to 54

NOTE: The Cyber/DevOps/Fullstack courses, are free... but go "well past" intro to/100-level (might not be "easy" to the non-techy)

Closing access? >> This says to me, DO THEM NOW

I'll fly through a single credit course to check it out, looks like its all via 3rd party MOOC's, execpt for the IT offerings (they appear in house, at least cyber and intro programming are that I see)

"Nice! Have you registered?" = yes, to every flipping course, right before replying, just in case
"Didn't unis in Finland close access to non-EU?" - lets not type that out loud, lol (bad mojo, so far, U of Halsinki wont "do it too" until at least NEXT CYCLE... do them NOW)

I am so-so trained as an anti-cybercriminal, including knowledge of common tactics .. that said, new topic...
Do you think obtaining citizenship, that pass cursory inspection would be "difficult"? (but doing so would be wrong, and I am NOT suggesting it) ... cough, The Principality of Sealand (is kinda the EU?)

as it stands... a Martian could sign up right now... "for now"

I've enrolled in a bunch. Do report back when you attempt an exam. I'm curious about the process.

IMHO, start with Finnish Education System intro course (Uncover Finnish Education I)... seems the reasonable thing to do (just incase they require something "extra/special")

Then lets drill down the "stoopids" ... Cat/Dog = 100%, how could you not? lol.. Then I'm thinking "in society" and "sustainability", plus to a lesser degree "Intro"/"Tools for"/"Working with"
..."Ethics" might be the hardest of the easy? (no the solution to the old age issue is not detailed in "Logan's Run"... no one renews)
/
I can pass the Cyber courses, 99% sure, even at a "real university", perhaps under live fire (cyber credit stuff, I am now hyper confident with)... Data Science... umm, ahh, maybe (Am I proctored? Can I triple check my work? maths...)

Your obviously also Canadian, getting an IT degree... are you in Ontario also? (dont feel you have to answer that if you dont want too)
If you haven't already, you can access all the credits I did... none were "hard to get", some registrations required some "minor information engineering/willful omissions" to make "smooth"
The "biggest" hurdle, I faced, past RA stuff... was getting Coursera access "on the cheap" (it would have cost over $140 USD to do it paid)
/
IMHO "collecting credits" is about "collecting credits"... this is your main concern (not data retention, again, imho)... but I am no authority on this, at all

Aim at the stuff we "wont get elsewhere" or more important, does not overlap/conflict...

Uncover Finnish Education I
AI course (it is an intro/fundamentals course, and appears minimally techy)
Biodiversity
Climate
Cyber course (as above... but gets more techy as we go)
5G
Intro AI
Ethics of AI
All the stand-alone "Intro" courses
All the stand-alone "Sustain" courses

= Should do, with "a bit" to spare, even accounting for minor cyber overlap ... to boot, all should be "science/It electives", of some type

Put the Coursera/IBM/Google/MS stuff aside, you wanna get real RA creds, right? :Smile Thus, you gotta grind 'em.

I have already finished "ALL" (but 1 locked access) of the Coursera/IBM/Google/MS "Offerings"... lol

in 8 days I finish Sophia, but I estimate I only need 3 to 4, of the 8 days, to reach 100% course completion, *of the courses I'm doing (I'm not doing the few "not for credit career" courses or French I/Spanish I/II)
/
On the 29th of the month Pima CC starts, the 4x easiest courses this term, the "hardest" (not hard) 2 next term
/
Clackamas CC starts in June for LIB-101

& now, Helsinki, here we come....

I completed chapter 1 of Uncover Finnish Education I, its all:

- read/watch "stuff"
- Each module = short written replies (100-300 word), with APA/Undergraduate level expected.
- One had = True or false (5 question), instead

Grading = 100% peer reviewed, with some form of academic oversight (i'm assuming), you MUST review 3 classmates, each module

I'm guessing 1000 words per chapter + 1 "gamey activity", like the T/F

Its "pretty easy", but its a step over most of Coursera's "pure quizs" (but just by a small bit), more akin to IBM Skillsbuild, plus writing
/
If these really = RA credits, This is an invaluable source

@ Epiphany.y

You in? (dont delay, free wonders are rarely long to stay) Once we got em, they cant take them away...
There is enough there, we can just do the "cakewalk/stoopid" (easy) courses for the RA and run .. we get U.Helsinki and Harvard.U (CS50x) as parts of our CV's
(which are very good schools apparently, on a tangent: .... MIT might have a free MOOC too, I know Oxford does cause I did it, "Programming for Everyone")
