I can't remember if it were this board, but I recall someone mentioned that the graduation rate for Ph.D. programs there is an abysmal 15%. Normally, reputable schools have graduation rates above 90%, so clearly there is a problem with teaching effectiveness. If it were me, I'd go for the Ph.D. from UCA or TWU. You can't go wrong with a state school, and the Ph.D. title just sounds better. I haven't heard of South College. Where is that? Texas Woman's University. Public school that's good. The degree looks intriguing as well. I think you can't go wrong with either UCA or TWU
I just need to slightly correct you. According to the US Dept. of Education website, the national average graduation rate of all universities is 58%. This includes all schools from Ivy League on down. Also, the graduation rate for University of The Cumberlands is 57%, so right about the average.
I am highly considering them for their DBA program, which is IACBE accredited.
That's their overall graduation rate. What is the graduation rate for their doctoral programs?
Doctoral graduation rates typically don't get tracked like undergrad rates. You can't find doctoral graduation rates for any university. But their 57% overall rate is much higher than wherever you got your 15% from.
However, I did read in an article, not true database tracking, just an article only, stated the national average dropout rate of all doctoral students is as high as 49%.

I attended an information session last night regarding the UCA PhD program and wanted to add a couple details I learned from it.
The typical time to complete the degree is about 4 years, with some students doing it in 3 1/2 years.
There are required courses which are delivered synchronously. It is not an entirely asynchronous program.
There are two new concentrations that are planned to be added for next fall: Higher Ed and Reading.
The deadline to apply for next fall is February 1st.
It is competitive admission with committees in each concentration deciding who to admit.
I hope that helps anyone who is considering it. I decided against it mostly due to its synchronous aspects.

Just updating everyone that was waiting on the "two new concentrations coming in May"... I just received word of this
"Unfortunately, the roll out for the two new concentrations have been delayed by a year. However, we do expect they are coming.
Please check out our other PhD concentrations found on our website. The annual deadline is February 1st. "

Just updating that beginning with Fall 2025, this program is just Ph.D. in Change Leadership. They are dropping the 'in Equity and Inclusion' in the name but state they are still committed to incorporating it in coursework.
I just got the email today about it.

Sometimes, if not most of the time, a shorter degree name looks and sounds better... Hopefully they don't change the courses around, if they do, not that many
