I just graduated from Thomas Edison State University Dec 12, 2025. I was able to knock out 45 credit hours between March and November 2025, including 3 Sophia classes and 1 Straighterline.
After much research, I chose the MS in Engineering Management at University of Arkansas. You have to have a STEM degree that is ABET accredited as well as a 3.0 GPA in last 60 credit hours to get accepted. Their website says you must have an engineering degree, but apparently this was changed in the last year to include Engineering Technology majors. TESU's Electronic Systems Engineering Technology degree meets all the requirements.
What I like about the EM at University of Arkansas is 1) major school recognition 2) their Engineering Management program is certified by the American Society of Engineering Management, and 3) the price is $1089 per 3 hour class all in (I just registered and paid for Spring 26). So far it has been a smooth process. You can have a Masters in Engineering Management from a major school for literally under $11k!!

Awesome job! Welcome to the board and congratulations on your achievement! How do you find TESU's Electronic Systems Engineering Technology degree? How many credits at TESU did you take in total? And did you transfer in the rest, including the ones you mentioned from Sophia.org and StraighterLine?

As someone who got the ASEM Engineering Management Certification, I am very interested to hear how this program goes for you!

Thank you bjcheung77. I am very excited to finally achieve this major milestone. I had previously taken courses in a community college and UH 15+ years ago. When I tried to go back in January, I was told I would have to retake all of my electronics courses due to their 7 year limit. Through this forum I found schools that accepted all of my credits. TESU and SNHU were at the very top of my list. I really enjoyed TESU's customer service and how eager they were to help me (SNHU was a very close contender). Their Electronic Systems Engineering Technology was the closest I could find to the Electrical Power Engineering Technology I started many years ago and that carried the weight of the ABET accreditation. I DO NOT recommend doing a STEM degree without this accreditation as many job postings require it. The classes at TESU were very manageable but there was alot of reading in a short amount of time. Also, you need to stay on top of deadlines since there is a lor of work and assignments. Also, had I not had this accreditation, I would not have been accepted to the Engineering Management program at University of Arkansas. I transferred about 70 percent of my courses from community and other public university. I transferred-in 12 Sophia credits and 4 Straighterline. I took 32 credits at TESU. I started in February and finished in November.

I will keep you guys posted. What degree do you have? What was the process for your certification?

I got a BS and MS in engineering at a B&M university years ago.
For me, the certification process required showing work experience and passing an exam, kinda like the PMP. I know if you complete an ASEM certified masters program you can get certified more easily.
