Happy Monday, October 12 - Columbus Day 2020 in United States!
#1
Happy Monday!  I've been so productive today!  I think I've actually cleaned up my unread posts and private message box.  Other than that, I've been busy with the kids, side projects, and researching some new ways of getting FIT so I can lose this beer belly (I actually don't drink much beer as I get RED REALLY FAST if I drink alcoholic beverages, I don't mind one or two though).

Oh oh! PS: For those Canadians, it's Thanksgiving!  Have fun with eating and making that lovely dinner!

It wasn't Columbus Day in all of the US. In Maine, it was Indigenous Peoples Day. Turns out 14 others states have joined them. A number of municipalities have also. Seems like this change is really taking hold now. It took awhile!

Thanks, I didn't know - I'm not that smart with Holidays, I read whatever shows up on the Smartphone...
As long as people are getting fit, having fun, keeping safe, and enjoying their Holiday... it's all good news!

I had no idea so many states celebrated Indigenous Peoples Day. I knew Maine made the change. On my Google Calendar yesterday it said it was both holidays which was different. I don't remember it showing both in the past. No mention of Canada Thanksgiving though. I am 45 minutes from the border so that is interesting to me.

That is because our country is getting stupider and apologizing for actions of people from 500 years ago that had more advanced technology and obviously, like all more technologically advanced civilizations, took over and conquered other ones. We should not apologize, we should celebrate Columbus instead, as without it, this country would be either still like early explorers found it or taken over by Japanese or other more advanced civilizations. The indigenous populations in north America didn't even have the wheel, I do respect their cultures but without certain technologies, you cannot win over a more advanced intruder. Just accept the loss and embrace and thrive, like all other cultures have done before. Don't we all speak English here? Do we all have "English" ancestors?
