According to my guys who've taken them recently, they said the Mometrix 'CLEP SECRETS' test was one of the best they had for US History I & II. They also said it's available in ebook, most of them checked it out from the library. Not sure if yours has it, but if they do, it's worth a shot.

Try your local library. See if they have college books on US History. Either to check out or to buy. Our local library has a used book store that the college kids donate their old books too. College here is something of a rip when it comes to books. They charge like $100 for the course book and the college bookstore will buy it back at the end of the semester for like only $10.00 "used" even if it was never used. So we have US History college books flooded in our library along with other courses. Those might help get deep into it since they cover college level course work in one book. I took US History as a regular course. It was called Hist 05: United States History at the CC in 1998 out of high school. It was actually US History 1 and 2 combined into a very long 18 week, three hour a lecture course with three lectures (M, W, F) a week. I know by the end of the course (History 2) they were dealing with a lot of political stuff dealing with the post-WWII area. Korean War, Vietnam War, Cold War, dates such as when JFK and RFK were assassinated, who assassinated them, and where they were assassinated (inducing name of the cities.) What year the Vietnam war officially ended. Watergate scandal. Civil Rights movement such as what year did Rosa Park not give up her seat on the bus. Questions on tests were "When did the US change the voting age from 21 to 18 years old and what Amendment changed that?" But like I said, I took it as a course. I’m not sure how it works with CLEP or what they’re looking for.

Hey guys thank for the replies. I've been using some online guides. I'm scheduled to take the test on Thursday. Regarding the test are the questions to similar in any way to the official CLEP guide, or the practice questions in the collegeboard website?

The test will be very similar to the mini practice test in the Official CLEP Study Guide. The Collegeboard website only has a few practice questions, not enough to gauge your readiness.
