How difficult, math-wise, is a finance undergrad? Is it calculus, statistics, and above? I've read that once you're in the field, it's generally simple math, but earning the degree can often be a more challenging story.
Always been good with money, strategies to maximize it, so the fundamentals and interest are there, but I'm not good at advanced math, and I'm confident I wouldn't make it through any courses containing much beyond the easy-moderate chapters of a college algebra course.

I would suggest looking at some free Finance resources to see how difficult they look to you. Saylor has Principles of Finance, as well as Financial Management. Coursera has some Finance-related courses, certificates, and Specializations. You don't need to pay for Coursera if all you're doing is auditing the courses. I didn't check edX, but they probably also have something.

It does depend on what college we are talking about. I have seen some economics degrees that are very heavy in math.
For TESU BSBA concentration in finance or SNHU Finance degree, those degrees are easy. The Sophia stats course is watered down a bit, and nobody seems to have trouble passing that course. There is no calculus required.

Finance would be a lot easier than accounting, considering with accounting, you would have to do 150 credits if you want to become a CPA. Accounting has a lot more to do with numbers and rules/regulations.

Finance is generally understanding the formulas, rather than a lot of advanced math.
