Budget: 1700 per 8-week session of YourPace. 

Commitments: Full time job at a school so I get out early in the afternoon, I have all afternoon and most evenings and weekends to study. No kids.

Dedicated time to study: 3+ hours a day, including weekends

Timeline: It depends on how many classes I have to do, but I'd love to be done in 2-3 sessions!

Tuition assistance/reimbursement: My workplace has tuition reimbursement but it's not guaranteed.

I have speculated on what my degree plan might look like. I don't have a transfer eval from UMPI yet so I'm using the degreeforum wiki for Sophia equivalents and MaineStreet for CC equivalents.

44+46 is 90 credits, the max I can transfer in

MY QUESTION:

Do I need to take anything else on Sophia? Does this mean I'll have to take the remaining 10 elective credits at UMPI and should they be upper level so I can also meet the upper level requirement? What is the UL requirement? I want to make sure I have taken enough on Sophia so that if something does not get transferred in the way I think it will, it will be replaced with something else.

I would apply to UMPI and get your transcripts evaluated so you can see how your college courses transfer in. You'll also get a degree audit so you'll see what you have left to complete. You can apply for the Fall 1 term and always delay the start date if you need to.

The BLS degree requires 24 upper level credits on top of the upper level credits already listed for the Ed Studies minor.

Business Ethics and Microbiology will both transfer as upper level, so that's 6 credits. Therefore, you'll still need 18 upper level credits (so, 6 upper level classes). These can be used to finish out the electives you need.

So, you'd be doing a total of 13 classes at UMPI between the Ed Studies courses and the remaining upper level.

(Business Law at Sophia is also upper level, if that interests you.)

My suggestion also is to get the application submitted and an evaluation completed in order to see where you stand... Once you know your remaining credits, you'll then need to create an action plan to complete those classes, either from transfer credits or through UMPI for residency purposes.
